I have bought about 6 TS/Champion sweatshirts over the last 3 months for my son and me - turtleneck, crewneck, zip-up, nba logo'd, pocket, hoodie etc. so suffice it to say I am a big fan. There is something about the fit, details and materials that come together that make them special, imo, even over your better department or collegiate bookstore ones.
Tbh, this one didn't blow me away out of the box, but after wearing it around for a couple of hours, it might just be my favorite along with the 'midweight turtleneck sweatshirt in original navy'. I like the vintage detailing - the way the hood looks like it was just sewn onto a crewneck; the broad and faded looking elastic cuffs and hem; the high placement of the kangaroo pockets. It feels heavier and rougher to the touch than the other TS/Champion ones I bought maybe as it's a cotton/poly blend? The hood is double lined, heavy, stiff and perfect (not too shallow or deep) - maybe the best hood on a hoodie yet? And finally, it's made in Canada where I grew up!
Fit wise, Medium fits me well at 5'11", 160lbs leaning definitely towards tailored over baggy. At the sale price, I am very pleased with it.
