Great for the price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted something just to hook up a Roku device to and a blu-ray player for my occasional use outdoors when its hot and for a more Theater like setting once in a while. Overall, picture quality is excellent, brightness is really good, even at sunset. Accesibility to some of the settings is a bit tricky but once you are there, it is easy to work with (and you only have to set it once). I love that it has the automatic bezel based on the angle of the projector, but it does lack the ability of a mechanical zoom lens (it is only for focus). Of course, it only has one hdmi input and a stereo output, so it very simple, not really customizable in that way, the usb port I haven't tried. I think this is a great buy for simple use and to enjoy a good movie on a big screen.

Little projector that can!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great projector for the money. We got ours $100 off MSRP. We had a no name projector from the big box online retailer that claimed to have higher lumens but it could not play during daylight. We treated ourselves to this Epson C880 and are very impressed. This projector can project a full image in our backyard entertainment space in daylight and has even better quality at night! The fan is audible but if you used an external speaker, thank you aux port, the external speaker drowns out the fan easily. For the money we decided to spend a little more for known quality and for a brand we know we can get replacement bulbs for whenever we end up needing them. The photo is from a cloudless sky at 5:30pm, on a dirty projector screen. Setup was super quick and easy, the auto focus works, and the little adjustable legs are also helpful.

Great projector for indoor and outdoor
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great picture and quality both indoor and outdoor, even in sunlight. Speaker quality is good compared to other projectors. There is an audio output to enhance sound.

100% recommendation.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fair warning, this is a first impression review. I am blown away by this thing. My only real expectations were based on the 2-3 thousand dollar projectors I remember as a kid. This absolutely blew them away, the picture quality in my basement, even on just the wall is excellent, the colors pop, the brightness is great. I’m projecting about 150 inch image and it’s still as good quality as say, a 65 inch tv of the same price. It was incredibly easy to set up and use out of the box with a google play attachment. Casting is effortless and all setup is incredibly simple, pretty much plug and play. The only thing is the audio volume is very limited, but I expected that, and it has a 3.5 mm jack so setting up a speaker system should be as effortless as everything else has been with this device. TLDR, For the price you absolutely cannot go wrong and this device has my 100% recommendation, although I’d recommend investing in a sound system.

Mind blown!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Decided to finally upgrade my old $200 projector. I mostly used it indoors and outdoor for movie night with my son, however waiting until 8:30 so it was dark enough had become too much of a burden. I bought this based on reviews that it works in brighter light. The difference was drastic as you can see in the photos. These were taken :05 apart in the same exact lighting. The sound is okay, totally acceptable for casual viewing. I use an aux cable into my old bose with makes for an easy movie night set up. I would give this 6 *'s if i could.

My own drive in theater
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Made my backyard a drive in theater and THE hangout space of the summer! We have even played video games on the back of the house. The backyard neighbors are jealous but love the free movie screenings.

You won’t be disappointed!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow! That’s all I have to say! I had purchased a junk basic rca in October and the picture sucked! I upgraded to this bad boy, and it met my expectations and more. Even on my grey wall this thing is bright and the resolution is top notch. I hesitated because of price, but so glad i went ahead with it. Do yourself a favor, purchase this and go enjoy your new movie nights.

Excellent projector for the money!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent projector for the money! We painted our living room wall with Behr jet black matte paint and the image is awesome, even with lights turned on. Yes, our living room is always lighted up! See photos for yourself! I would like to note that this projector's fan makes noise, but you get used to it within a week.

Q: QuestionHi, i am new to projector world and i am really confused to choose between 2100 and 880 model. Can you please help me to choose the best one fo home theatre
Asked by Amit.
- A:Answer Just compare both model, look at the weakness and strength, and what you are looking for that fits your need and budget. Example if your want best image you have to go with 4K, if you don't care about that then 1080P will do just fine. The difference between the two that you mentioned is not a lot. The 2100 has 2500 lumens and a contrast ration of 35000:1 compare to the 880 which is 3300 lumens and a 15000:1. That being said with the 2100 you'll get slightly better image but the 880 is brighter. Also note that the 2100 is slightly bigger and heavier that the 880 and possibly a little more expensive and I believe is also a discontinued projector. So in my opinion I'll go with the 880 which may be cheaper and is a newer model, check my review and photos on the BestBuy website . Hope this help.

Q: Question1) Can you watch Netflix, Hulu etc on this and what device do you need to allow this? 2) Can you hook up external speakers and what is needed to allow this? Thanks
Asked by Dave.
- A:Answer Hi Dave, The Home Cinema 880 has an HDMI port for input and a 3.5 mm audio output jack. You can connect a streaming device such as a Roku or Apple TV to the HDMI port to watch Netflix, Hulu, etc. You can listen to the projector's internal speaker, or connect powered speakers or a stereo system to the audio output jack. Q: QuestionHello- We are looking for a projector that can sit roughly 22 feet away from a 125 inch screen. I noticed one review mentioned there are no zooming capabilities which is the issue with our current projector. Will this zoom to adjust to our screen? Thanks
Asked by michelle13.
- A:Answer Hi michelle13, Sorry, the Home Cinema 880 will not fit your needs. It has zoom capabilities, but not within the range you specified. It will project a 125" diagonal image if it is placed from 11 to 14.9 feet from the screen. Regards, Mark - The Epson Team.

Q: QuestionDo I need a projector screen or can I just use the white wall?
Asked by AriS.
- A:Answer Ours looks GREAT on a grey wall. It’s super clear from 18’ away but decided against the screen since the screen was only 120”.

Q: QuestionIs this a pretty good projector to play outside? Or do you have any recommendations for an outdoor projector? It won’t be left outside, just used occasionally during the summer.
Asked by Rlaxer24.
- A:Answer Hi Rlaxer24, It depends on how much ambient light you have. If it is very dark, at 3300 lumens the Home Cinema 880 will have a bright picture and great color. If the ambient light is substantial, consider a projector with a higher lumen rating. Regards, Mark - The Epson Team.

Q: QuestionWhat is the vertical lens offset? In other words, what is the distance between the lens centerline and bottom of image (above or below)?
Asked by Mohamad.
- A:Answer Hi Mohamad, It depends on the distance of the projector to the screen. If the projector is 72" (6') from the screen the bottom of the displayed image will be 4.19" from the centerline (CL) of the lens, and the top of the image will be 33.53" above the CL of the lens. If the projector is 240" (20') from the screen the bottom of the image will be 14" below CL and the top of the image will be 98" above CL. The aspect ration is 16:9 for these measurements. Please visit the throw distance calculator on Epson's support site for more information. Regards, Mark - The Epson Team.

Q: QuestionI'm planning on using this outdoors (bringing inside when not in use) for showing on a 20ft screen to about 30 people. How capable is the build-in speaker, or should I plan on purchasing an external speaker?
Asked by Stephen.
- A:Answer I’ve tried the internal speaker outside and it’s not the greatest.. I highly recommend pairing it with an external speaker. I use the JBL charge 4 and it sounds amazing! The reason I use the charge 4 over the charge 5 is because the 4 has the aux input where the 5 doesn’t. I connect the 4 using the aux chord as the 880 doesn’t have Bluetooth. Hope this helps
