NoGin Natural Gin

Item # 45435

A rare, vineyard raised gin from biodynamic ingredients in the heart of Bordeaux. Made from a base of Bordeaux wine that is then distilled with the simple additions of juniper, pink peppercorns and wild stinging nettles that grown on the property. This is one of the most distinctive and spectacular gins we have ever tasted.

Hourtin-Ducasse, one of my favorite Bordeaux wine producers, uses biodynamic and organic principles in its vineyards and winemaking. This same philosophy carries over to their recent foray into distillation. The spirit base is made from excess juice once the harvest is vinified. Fresh and clean, slightly minty, and not overtly in the bug spray realm of flavors sometimes present in gin. Botanicals include juniper, pomelo zest, peppercorn, and stinging nettles grown on the property. Fun fact: This isn't even considered gin in France due to its distillation process, but who cares? Sometimes less really is more.
