VR is absolutely amazing 👏  if you have the free money to get this tier of VR. Having that being said, the headset should come with all the amenities that are sold to you after market. The Oculus 2 and standard 3 will do just fine.

Meta Quest Pro

Had issues getting boundaries set up.  Had to restart headset 4 times to get through it.  Then had a controller that wigged out and had to be reset/rebooted (which isn't obvious how to do, but tech support was fast and spot-on).  Other than those minor issues, it has been AMAZING!  No regrets on upgrading from my Meta 2!

Everything is awesome about this headset EXCEPT for two things.

1. The eye adjustment requires you to stick your fingers in an manually move it so it's prone to getting your fingerprints on it. And once moved there is no lock in place, so if you bump it with your nose you can move it out of alignment.

2. You can't navigate with your eyes. It's only used for facial expression. I was hoping I could do "something" with the eye tracking like in sony's PSVR or most recently the AVP. Hopefully this changes.

It's cool that it'll know what I'm doing on the inside, but it would be a great quality of life to be able to explore and navigate with just my eyes and a tap.

As a fan of VR, this is an awesome choice

Unless you're using the Pro for something that the Quest 3 simply will not do, it is not superior in any way and is inferior in a few ways, notably the availability of 3rd party accessories (which is important since Meta's own are limited and not great).

Save your money

I wanted to like it but the technology is just not quite ready yet. The desktop browsing experience works great, watching films is awesome, and the games are novel and fun to try. However, spend 30 minutes in the Meta quest and you notice the technology bugs: screens freeze in space, controllers get stuck, buttons cannot be clicked. Also, the graphics are still not good enough for virtual reality to feel “real” yet. 3D videos/games feel pixely compared to watching a normal video and it strains your eyes. 

I wanted to like it and I still might come back but the technology is not quite ready yet for me. Nice job to the team and everyone who worked on it, it's a super cool piece of tech and I can't wait to see where it goes next.
