About this item
- Mini-LED: One of the newest backlighting technologies to enter the market, Mini - LED backlight panels create a brighter picture with more contrast control than typical LED backlit televisions.
- 4K ULED: Like 4K great, but better. The 55U8H has our exclusive ULED technologies. They boost color, contrast, brightness, motion we could go on. It's the TV your old TV wants to be.
- Quantum Dot Wide Color Gamut: Quantum Dot produces purer, richer, more brilliant and accurate colors than a regular LED TV. Creating over a billion color combinations bring vibrant images to life in a way non-QLED TVs can't.
- Peak Brightness/Full Array Local Dimming Zones: The average TV is 250-350 nits. Anything over 500 nits is extremely good. This television is up-to-1500 nits peak brightness across up-to-528 local dimming zones. Above average peak brightness and local dimming are critical to correctly reproducing HDR content.
- Dolby Vision Dolby Atmos: Dolby Vision HDR picture and Dolby Atmos sound are cinema technology for your home. They provide amazing realism you can see and hear in every scene.
- Smooth Motion & 120Hz Native Refresh Rate: Smooth Motion removes the digital noise that can affect moving objects. The TV's native 120Hz refresh rate is the foundation for its 480 motion rate. These technologies work in concert for a great picture.
- Game Mode Pro: All the most advanced gaming tech, all in this TV. HDMI 2.1 inputs recognize gaming sequences to automatically adjust settings for smooth, uninterrupted play. The automatic low latency mode (ALLM), 120 Hz variable refresh rate (VRR) and FreesSync Premium Pro minimize input lag, screen jitter, and frame tearing.
- Hands Free Voice Control: Put down the remote. Change the channel, find the latest movie, stream your favourite video and more with your voice. The quicker, easier way to find whatever you want to watch.

Product Description
We're bringing Quantum Dot Color to the people. Enjoy over one billion colors, without worrying about how many commas are on the price tag. You're welcome. The great value U8H makes lots more premium tech readily available too. Like 4K resolution, Dolby Vision HDR and Full Array Local Dimming zones. Sounds like science, looks like a way more expensive TV.

Great panel, good SmartTV SoC

- Reviewed in the United States on March 23, 2023Size: 55-InchVerified PurchaseHello Everyone,
Pros:
Let me just start by saying This TV is Amazing and I think you should try it if you are in the market for a New TV and dont want to spend too much money!!! This TV simply smokes many of the LG, Samsung, or Sony tvs that are in the similar price range or even that are a little bit more expensive. Is it as good as an OLED? No, but it is pretty close! I was gonna buy an OLED but i was worried for Burn-in. I am so glad I bought Hisense U8H and saved a ton of money! I never bought a Hisense tv before this so this is my first Hisense TV. I was using a Samsung KS8000 before for my Game Room. I bought this Hisense U8H 4 months ago especially for Gaming and some Movie Watching. I currently have a 2016 Samsung KS8000 (Edge-Lit) and also a 2017 Sony X900F (Full-Array) paid double for both of these tvs and honestly U8H beats both of them as far as picture quality goes. Blacks are very deep even in the dark room. Believe me when I say this: This TV gets ridiculously BRIGHT!!! I didn't notice a whole lot of blooming. Only noticed it on some occasions but in comparison to my other TVs this U8H is sooooo much better!!! Gaming on it is super amazing, colors are Rich & Vibrant! I do not have the current consoles so I can't say anything about 120hz but upon reading different posts on reddit and after the latest firmware update it works perfectly fine. Sound Quality is pretty good for a TV (it has a 20W Subwoofer in the back). Software wise it is pretty good much faster/smoother than my other tvs. Motion is pretty good but I keep the motion settings off for my movies. Upscaling is good but I think Samsung and Sony upscale the older content much better. Remember: You have to turn "Enhanced Mode" to on for 120hz to work (there is plenty of information you can find on the internet and many YouTube videos about it)
Cons:
It does have color banding issue (which is still not fixed with a latest Firmware) that I've noticed in some games and movies but personally it doesn't bother me so if you are sensitive to that then keep this in mind before buying.
Annoying 4 led lights that come on after you turn the mic button to off ( I think you can also turn it off in the software, but I've gotten used to it so doesn't bother me anymore.
Final thoughts:
I think for me these are the only cons and overall this is a very good TV. Would I recommend to buy this TV? Absolutely YES!!! Try it and if you don't like it you can always return it. Also, If you get a bad unit don't worry just replace it! This getting a bad unit happens with every manufacturer (maybe I am not sure upon reading some reviews it happens more with Hisense I don't know, but I got lucky the first time) it happened to me in the past with Samsung & Sony as well.
Good Luck! 👍
- Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2022Size: 55-InchVerified PurchaseIf you're here, you've probably already read the rtings and you know how good the panel in the U8H is (and if you haven't, google it, post-haste!), and you've probably also been the the thread about the U8H on avsForum. I can't begin to replicate the kinds of detailed tests that rtings does, but I will say that this TV looks great in person -- if you have a bright environment or lots of glare, this thing can get eye-searingly bright. The setup process was not entirely smooth -- I had to cancel the app-based installation and do it on-screen -- but since I'll only do this once over the decade I'll have this TV I don't really see it as a big deal. The on-screen setup proceeded without a hitch and everything worked flawlessly. The pictures attached to this review are screenshots of various bits of system information and benchmark results that I gathered while assessing the built-in smart TV functions (more details on that below).
One place where rtings is lacking in their reviews is their evaluation of smart TV features ... and indeed, the folks on AVSForum were looking for more information on that as well. I will endeavor to provide it. Here are some specs that I gleaned from AIDA 64:
- The motherboard is listed as an "MT9900", but the SoC is listed as an MT5895, listed as a 4-core Cortex-A73 clocked at 1.8Ghz. I ran geekbench and gfxbench on it, and the CPU performance is slightly better than my Sony X91J (which has an MT5895), but the GPU performance is ~25% worse. This may just be due to implementation, or it may be due to the fact that this TV is running Android 11 while the Sony is still on Android 10.
- This TV has 6GB storage and 2GB RAM. I'm happy to see more than the 4GB I've seen on some other sets, it gives a bit more breathing room for apps. Another gig of RAM would have been nice for future proofing, but it does well with current apps with the RAM that it has.
- In Geekbench 4, this TV scores around 1065 (single-core) and 2925 (multi-core), and in Geekbench 5 it scores around 220 (single-core) and 635 (multi-core). For reference, the Sony X91J Geekbench 4 scores are around 1075 (single-core) and 2763 (multi-core) -- it seems very likely to me that this TV is running the same MT5895 as the Sony.
- Running the GFXBench T-Rex Offscreen test, this TV was able to render 1920 frames (~33FPS). For comparison, the X91J renders 2446 fraames (44FPS). Both TVs report having a Mali G52 GPU, so either HiSense has a software issue, or the hardware is different in some way (clocked lower, slower memory, etc.)
To put this into context, it's a good deal slower than the current generation Fire HD 10 tablet, a fair bit faster than the Retroid Pocket 3 gaming handheld, and faster than pretty much all stand-alone Google TV Boxes except for the nVidia shield. If you would like to game on your TV, you should easily be able to emulate everything through SNES, and also run some of the easier-to-emulate N64, Dreamcast, and PSP games. It should also run those Android games that support Android TV reasonably well.
Subjectively, the interface animations are smooth and it has no trouble running the current TV apps. The Wifi is quite fast, and even when connected to my 802.11AC access point, it was achieving well over 100mbps. I was able to pair a bluetooth mouse and get a cursor, which is a feat that not all Google TVs can achieve (my Sony, for instance, will only work with a mouse that has a dongle). After installing a web browser, pages loaded quickly and rendered correctly. I feel no need to connect my usual Media Center PC to this set, as the built-in Google TV processor is fully sufficient.
All in all, I'm very happy!
EDIT: A few notes that I forgot in my initial review
- I haven't tried it yet, but since this runs the same SoC as my Sony (which I do use for cloud gaming), it should run GeForce Now just fine
- You should also be able to side-load the xBox GamePass app and use the cloud portion of that subscription. The difficulty level there is a bit higher, because you will not be able to install it via the play store (it doesn't officially support ANY Android TV yet, but the smartphone app works if you install it)
- Since this uses the MT5895 chipset, it is likely that if you try to drive it at 4k120Hz, it will halve the vertical resolution. There have been reports of this, and Hisense is said to be working on a fix. In my use case (gaming from ~12ft away), it's not noticeable. If you're using it for a PC monitor, it may be bothersome.

Size: 55-InchVerified PurchaseEl producto me llegó en una caja de un modelo U6. Se vende como modelo nuevo y probablemente sea reacondicionado.
