Very happy with this sun dress. The quality, style, and fit are good for the price. I am 5’ 7”, 34B, 138lbs and I ordered the Small. It fits perfectly. At first I thought I might have to get the shoulder straps tailored because they were too short when I put it on, but then I discovered that the straps are adjustable. There are two buttons inside the back of the dress and two button holes on each strap, so I was able to lengthen the straps to their longest setting. The fabric has a nice weight to it and the pink/black paisley is very pretty. The length is good on me and the dress falls nicely and isn’t too baggy. I expect to wear it a lot this summer.

    This was my first experience ordering clothing on Amazon. To say I was skeptical about the quality I could expect is an understatement. What a pleasant surprise! Here’s what you need to know about this dress:

    This garment is well-made, and the fabric has a substantial heft to it. With the exception of the black eyelet version, this dress is not lined and doesn’t need lining. This dress has REAL pockets, not the useless for-show-only kind. The straps are adjustable (three “settings” using buttons on the inside of the back of the dress). This dress features an empire waist with a full, flowing skirt. Very forgiving fit in the waist, tummy and butt. As others have noted, there is less give in the chest. I disagree with reviewers who stated that there is no give at all. The elastic in the back of the dress provides about two inches of give. So, select your dress size according to your bust size.

    I am about 5’ 5”, 150 pounds, 38C bra. The medium fits me perfectly and I have adequate room to wear a bra underneath. The dress is ankle length on me. For the reviewer who complained that the dress is ankle length: this dress is billed as a maxi dress!

    I disagree with reviewers who stated that this dress is too heavy and therefore too hot to wear in the summer. The fabric is Tencel, which beats cotton when it comes to breathability.

    For the reviewer who complained that the color faded with washing: Tencel actually holds color very well and fading hasn’t been an issue for me. To prevent fading, turn the dress inside out and cold-water wash with a detergent for dark or colored clothes.

    This versatile dress can be dressed up or down. Paired with a cardigan, it is an appropriate casual look for my office. But it works just as well for a trip to the beach or the farmers market.

    All in all, a very good value.

    P.S. I wish this dress came in a shorter length, but it doesn’t. The workaround: I just removed the bottom tier of the dress and voilà, knee length dress! I did this with two of the five dresses I purchased. Save the bottom tier! You can use the fabric to make a coordinating scrunchie, belt or handbag. You can even glue the fabric onto a plain clutch. (Search Amazon for purse frames and fabric glue.)

    I typically wear a size medium or small, depending on brand and clothing type, and I wear a size 8 in bottoms. I went ahead and ordered my usual size medium, based off the reviews. When it arrived, it was sooo tight on my chest. Not only did it fit uncomfortably, it looked silly having my chest look so noticeably smooshed. I reordered in size large, and I’m in love! I feel like this dress should be purchased based on chest size, and for reference I am a 36C. The large fits amazingly, and it’s a nice loose fit just as the pictures show. I suppose it also depends on the fit you’re going for, but I’m not a fan of the super tight top. I prefer the fit to be just as it’s shown on the model. Also want to mention I ordered the white, and while it’s a tad see through, it isn’t a deal breaker…it can work as a swimsuit cover up, or a basic summer dress…throw on a denim jacket, and bam. Cute as F. :) Oh! I am 5’3” and the length hits just above my ankles. I can walk without it dragging or catching my sandals. Hope this helps someone!
