What You Should Know: Diamond is GIA certified

**This Ring Can Be Resized.

Diamonds are the stuff dreams are made of. Obviously. But in addition to dreams they are made of carbon. Carbon that has been subjected to intense heat and pressure deep within the Earth. This means that diamonds can take on some very complex natural configurations.

Robert Shipley founded the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in 1931. Through the institution, he devised a standardized system to assess precious gems and train gemologists to identify and classify stones. This led to the now-universal system of diamond grading called the "4Cs". The four C’s are: carat, color, clarity, and cut. Carat and cut speak for themselves but color and clarity were especially revolutionary, sophisticated ways to talk about diamonds when the GIA introduced the 4 C’s.

The color grading scale runs from D to Z. This means that the highest possible color grade for a diamond—absolutely colorless—is rated D. These stones are the most rare, and some think the most beautiful, and therefore the most expensive. Regarding clarity, this designation concerns the presence of inclusions, or very small pockets of matter that got stuck within the diamond when the Earth was giving birth to it. Diamonds, like this baby, that achieve the grade of VS2 (“very slightly included”) and above have very minute inclusions that are super hard to see, even under 10x magnification.

This magnanimous ring is fully amazing on all fronts. That long sexy as hell oval shape is just so good. This 2.05ctw diamond has been assessed by the GIA and hits the mark for us. We safely housed her in a custom 18K setting to die for.
