Q: There's plastic inside the kettle on the pour spout and strainer. I removed the strainer, but can't get the plastic pour spout off. Is this removable?

The clear material on the water level indicator is made of TPX Polymethylpentene the characteristics are similar to those of traditional polyolefins TPX features superb clarity, transparency, gas permeability, heat and chemical resistance and release qualities. Q: They say that the water does not come in contact with plastic, but the window where you can see the level IS plastic. Just because it’s BPA free doesn’t mean it’s not plastic. So, it DOES come in contact with the plastic that is window, correct?

I had been a staunch coffee lover for years. When my body let me know it was time to cut back greatly, I opted for the tea alternative. I had the old "whistle" stove top kettle, but after reading on how to best prepare various teas (at different temperatures), I went looking for newer kettle. Of all the reviews I've read online and many "best of" reviews... this model seemed to come out on top almost every time. I've had the kettle for just about a month now and it has operated flawlessly. Ease of filling. Ease of operation. The temperature control has been absolutely great for using multiple types of teas... whether it's light green tea, Oolong, dark teas, etc. Would I recommend this product to anyone? Absolutely!

Worth the splurge! No pesky LED lights that just go out. Good selection of heat settings. Keep warm feature. Appears smaller than the volume would suggest which I love. So far absolutely NO RUST inside at the bottom like most stainless kettles.

I order my electric tea kettle about 3 weeks ago - I researched electric tea kettles - including Consumer Reports -- and the Cuisinart got very high ratings and positive reviews from previous buyers. I liked to "look" of the Cuisinart - it has a clean / modern look. I also like the swivel base on the heating platform. I am a new tea drinker and especially like the temperature options! Overall it's a great kettle. What I did not like - is the week after I purchased my kettle, the price was reduced 33%!! UGH!!

Heats well; warm feature is nice (but beware…lots of evaporation during the use if this feature); line the size and the round plate which does not have a lip and us not larger than the actual kettle. But, the pour spout does not give a good steady nor direct stream.

I’m very Happy with this Product. Works great!!! It has one though, because it’s stainless steal the whole pot gets extremely hot on the outside. You need to be careful not to grab the pot when pouring. Other than that I really like it.

I Love It!! Works exactly as promised. Easy to use even for me. I hate long, complicated instructions. You put in water, plug it in, place on the heater, press the temperature you want, press on and and it makes a few non irritating beeps when it’s done, and that’s pretty much it. it’s easy to pour. I usually only want one large cup, but it's perfect if you want one or more. Oh, and it is slim and takes up very little space in my very small kitchen. It looks exactly as pictured in the picture. If I forgot anything, it’s because it’s so easy to use that I don’t have much to think about when I use it. I love that it has an automatic turn off to prevent a burnout in case I forget to get the water. It’s a pleasure. I use Brita filtered water which has no taste. The water where I live has an unpleasant taste if you don’t filter it. It’s so much better than boiling water in a whistling tea kettle. I have put off spending money on it because I didn’t know how pleasant it would be to use. The Amazon reviews were excellent and it sounded perfect for me. I have had my Cuisinart toaster oven for at least 20 years and it’s still perfect. I love that Cuisinart has a respected reputation.

my husband ordered it for me. I find it very heavy when filled to max. If I could hold it with both hands it would be ok, but the outside is so very hot I cannot touch it without using the handle. I only drink black tea so other levels are not needed for my use.

We bought this electric kettle because it is top rated by the NY Times Wirecutter. It heats water to your chosen temperature very quickly. However, the outside of the kettle gets very hot so it burns if you inadvertently touch it. Not a deal breaker but important if you have children around. Also, the top opening isn't very big so cleaning can be a problem unless you have a small hand.
