Nilufer has become one of the most exciting singer/songwriters to come out of England this decade. Her songwriting (with co-author Wilma Archer) on this, her 3rd record, is the best of her career so far. "Like I Say" and "Mutations" are personal highlights.
The vinyl pressing is of excellent quality - there are no noise or distortion issues here that plagued her previous release "Painless". It's mastered a bit on the quiet side, but other than that, no complaints at all - the vinyl sounds amazing.

With six weeks to go in the year, I haven't heard anything that approaches "My Method Actor" in its sophistication, lyrical depth, harmony, and total cohesion as a statement from a young artist in contemporary Britain. You could hang a winter coat on some of the song hooks, and the songs as a whole improve over each listen. For a month I was focused on the first five tracks, especially the gorgeous "Binding," but recently I've realized that the second half is just as strong ("Made out of Memory"). And how many albums can you say that about today? Thank you for this great music.
Una stella per l'incisione su vinile pessima, scandalosa, improponibile. Tengo a precisare che il disco è stato cambiato, la prima volta era inascoltabile e ho deciso di dare un'altra opportunità. Ho chiesto la sostituzione nella speranza fosse un disco difettoso, invecie anche il secondo è risultato pieno di fruscii e rumori di fondo inaccettabili nel 2025!! Peccato, il disco è veramente molto molto bello, a sto punto opterò per la versione in cd.
