Pros: Keep drinks cold for hours (I’ve only had to test it for 12 hours so far) Lightweight Attractive Easy to take on and off Waterproof inside and outside Cons: Expensive Straps weren’t designed with large busts in mind Stiff material isn’t super comfortable to wear Padding is crunchy and hard Where the straps attach the back, threads were pulling before the first use Zipper is really hard to get open and closed Difficult to see inside of This backpack cooler is really neat and you can tell a lot of thought was put into the heavy-duty materials and waterproof design, unfortunately, you can also tell that it wasn’t designed with every body type in mind. I was pretty disappointed with the lack of thought for comfort for those with busts, especially those with larger busts. While it’s still functional, the straps have to be pushed way to the side which ends up putting a lot of strain on the shoulders. This is very uncomfortable when you fill this all the way up with heavy ice and cans. Thankfully for me, I don’t generally go out with a cooler alone, so I can ask friends to help with carrying, but it’s really worth noting for those that plan to carry this alone. I ordered this backpack for use this upcoming summer for picnics, light hiking, biking, and kayaking. It’s a decent choice for most of those activities as it has a ton of space to hold drinks, ice, and food while remaining fairly compact. With that said, however, it’s not the best choice for every activity. The zipper on this bag is exceptionally difficult to open. I have major concerns about breaking the cord every time that I have to pull on it. This means that during activities where it might be nice to reach behind you to grab a drink, it’s very hard to do. Additionally, once the bag is open, the opening itself is a bit difficult to work with. It’s a narrow opening, that due to the nature of the zipper, doesn’t stay open nicely. You have to hold it open with one hand while digging around with the other if you want to see anything. If you use a single hand, the opening will flap shut against your arm making it impossible to see what you’re doing. If you plan to fill this cooler with exclusively one item (say your favorite beverage) this is no big deal. But if you have multiple items in there to choose from, grabbing the exact one that you want is annoying. The design of this backpack is great in terms of actually maintaining cool and keeping water in and out of the interior. However, it isn’t the most comfortable option. The straps and back of the pack have padding, but it’s a tough and almost crunchy type of padding that isn’t comfortable to wear. The stiffness of the material almost makes the whole unit feel bulky and inflexible. Finally, the straps, while made of sturdy and high-quality materials, have me a little nervous about longevity. Upon arrival, the straps on my bag were pulling away from the actual pack. This is before ever loading it up with any weight. I’ve attached a photo showing the area. It’s something I’ll have to keep an eye on as I continue to use the bag. If it becomes an issue or tears, I’ll update my review. Overall, I think that this is a high-quality bag, but it’s not for everyone. I would recommend this to those with minimal curves, a reasonable amount of upper body strength, and a love of a single type of drink. If you have a large bust, minimal upper body strength, and generally carry a variety of items in your cooler, this might not be the best choice.
