Should ship with a partial charge though it may have been depleted over time. Before first use, charge for a full two hours. To turn off travel mode, hold down the power button for three seconds until you feel two quick pulses, then travel mode will be deactivated. To turn on travel mode, hold the power button down again until you feel those same two quick pulses, then travel mode will be activated. Water-resistant, but should not be fully submerged.
