Questions
Q: How do I get app to control my drift?
2 months agoOriginally posted on drift 11"
A: To control your Drift 11" (ST-200-GR) using the app, follow these general steps. The exact steps may vary depending on the version of the app and the model, but here's how you can typically set it up: 1. Download the App Make sure you have the correct app installed on your phone. It might be called something like Drift Light Control, HoMedics Drift, or a similar name. You can find the app on the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). 2. Turn on Bluetooth or Wi-Fi The Drift light usually connects via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi depending on the model. Make sure your phone's Bluetooth (or Wi-Fi, if applicable) is turned on and in range of the unit. 3. Pair the Device Open the app and follow the prompts to pair your Drift 11" light with the app. This typically involves selecting the device from a list of available lights once the app detects it. 4. Control the Settings Once paired, you should be able to adjust the settings directly from the app. This might include: Changing the colors and brightness. Setting timers or schedules. Adjusting other features like lighting modes or ambient settings. 5. Troubleshooting If the app isn't controlling your Drift 11" as expected: Ensure that both your phone and the light are close to each other. Restart both the light and the app. Ensure that the light is properly powered on. Double-check that your Bluetooth/Wi-Fi connection is stable.
2 months agoQ: On my 2nd unit. 1st was defective. 2nd is now randomly changing colors. Or turning into a flashing bright light at 1am in the morning.
Anonymous2 months agoOriginally posted on drift 11"
A: It sounds like your Drift 11" (ST-200-GR) is having some issues with color-changing and random flashing, which can be frustrating. Based on your description, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem: 1. Power Cycle the Unit Try unplugging the unit for about 5-10 minutes, then plug it back in. This can sometimes help reset the internal components and stop any random flashing or color changes. 2. Check the Power Source Ensure the power supply is stable and that you’re using the correct power adapter (if applicable). Sometimes fluctuations in power can cause random behavior in LED lights or settings. 3. Reset the Settings Some products like this may have a reset function that clears any unusual settings or errors. If your model has a reset button or combination of button presses, refer to the user manual to perform a reset. 4. Check for Interference If the light has a remote control or connects via an app, check if any signals are causing it to change settings randomly. Ensure the remote or app is functioning properly. 5. Inspect for Defects If this is the second unit with issues, it's possible there’s an underlying defect in the design or manufacturing. Ensure that no parts are loose or damaged, especially the light mechanism.
2 months agoQ: Got the 11” for Christmas. Said it needed a firmware update, but it kept failing. Now it’s saying the device is offline. Tried reinstalling the app, unplugging the device, rebooting the app. Also, the buttons on the power cord don’t seem to do anything.

A: I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with your Homedics Drift 11" Sand Table (model ST-200-GR). To address the problems with the firmware update, offline status, and unresponsive power cord buttons, please follow these steps: 1. Factory Reset the Device: Performing a factory reset can resolve many operational issues. Unplug the power cord from the device. Press and hold both the power and lighting buttons on the device. While continuing to hold these buttons, plug the power cord back in. Keep holding the buttons until the device lights up green, which should take around 5 seconds. Once the device lights up green, the metal sphere will return to the center of the sand table, indicating that the factory reset is complete.

3 months agoQ: what if you do not have 120v outlet near your coffee table you want to put the drift on.
4 months agoOriginally posted on drift 11"
A: If you don’t have a 120V outlet near your coffee table for the Drift 11" (ST-200-GR), here are a few alternative solutions: Extension Cord: Use a high-quality, low-profile extension cord to discreetly bring power to your coffee table. You can use cord covers or floor cable concealers to keep the cord tidy and reduce tripping hazards. Portable Power Station: A rechargeable portable power station or battery pack with a 120V AC outlet can provide temporary power without the need for a nearby outlet. Relocate the Drift: If possible, consider placing the Drift on a nearby surface where an outlet is accessible, such as a side table or console, while still keeping it visible from your desired seating area.

Clear Previous Connections: If the device was previously paired with another phone, you may need to remove it from the Bluetooth settings on your phone or reset the Drift 11" to its factory settings (check the user manual for reset instructions).
