Kapalua, Maui
The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua
Resort All-Star
What it is
A Maui resort so magical it has the power to change you - set on 54-acres on the Pacific with 468 recently redesigned rooms and every amenity you could think of.
What it isn't
Adults-only. Guests of all ages are introduced to the natural beauty and cultural traditions of Hawaii with Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ambassadors of the Environment program. Through guided, family-friendly excursions, Maui becomes a living classroom where children learn about the environment and leave with an appreciation and respect for nature. Family thrills include an expansive activities program that will have vagabond tots whipping up pizzas with ingredients they pluck from the organic gardens, learn how the Hawaiian Islands rose from the middle of the sea as fiery volcanoes, and seeking out green turtle nests with a naturalist.
What we think
The only thing more fabulous than a Ritz-Carlton is a recently redone Ritz-Carlton. Rooms here are as cosseting as they come, with feather-topped king mattresses, marble-lined baths and floor-to-ceiling windows that look out on your private lanai (balcony). Recently redesigned, the guest rooms, suites and residences at this Kapalua resort invite you to engage with the Maui landscape. Drink in tropical views from your balcony, or relax inside with local artwork and modern, island-inspired design. Residential suites, meanwhile, feature kitchens and up to two bedrooms. If you’re traveling with even a small group, it’s well-worth upgrading to a suite for the space (a whopping 900-square-feet), sleeper sofa and powder room. Not that you’ll spend much time there; activities include two waterfront golf courses (one designed by Arnold Palmer), a tennis and pickleball garden, basketball courts, a daily schedule of unique experiences to create unforgettable memories, and a holistic spa that’s arguably the most restorative on the island. Don’t believe us? Book the Tropical Awa Nui Journey, with a full sea salt and Hawaiian herb exfoliation and Lomilomi massage, among other delights.
Insiders tip: to enhance your stay even more, add on club lounge access and discover The Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge at the Anuenue Room, a newly reimagined Ritz-Carlton Club Experience. Redefining luxury, it combines comfort and exclusivity with personalized service. Club guests will enjoy a dedicated concierge and a well-appointed, relaxed lounge environment with magnificent views of the Bay Course. Complimentary gourmet food and beverage offerings are available throughout the day.
