Newer, trendy hotel property. Very clean and well maintained. Very good breakfast included in the room rate. Friendly staff. We had a deluxe room and it was very nice, average size. Laundry service is very expensive, but efficient. Hotel is very hip, but sometimes it is not easy to determine who is an employee of the hotel vs another guest based on their dress.

They use to leave a welcome back card and snacks for guests who stayed before. No longer such hospitality lasting and staff were even not aware of guests stayed before or not. Disappointed.

Stop looking! This property has it ALL. It is central to everything in Kyoto. 10-15 min walk to Gion and nightlife. Additionally, I recommend that you call the hotel ahead of time and ask for Moe, she was phenomenal while I was there. She has all of the great spots available near the hotel or only a 5 min cab ride away. Every place she recommended was a 5-Star restaurant. However they have an impressive notebook with great options and budget conscious. Here is my advice, book a room immediately, speak with Moe prior to your trip or during your trip. Then leave a comment on how amazing your experience was at ACE Hotel!!
