This exquisite ryokan, or traditional Japanese Inn, is a rarity where everything, down to the very last detail, has been executed perfectly. The beautiful rooms, accessed by a hinoki boat ride, are exactly what you would hope for on an authentic trip to Kyoto. All sitting on the river, the rooms enjoy serene views of the water and forest where you may occasionally see a small monkey swinging from a tree. The hotel's Michelin-starred Japanese cuisine is also some of the best in Kyoto!
