Andaz Savannah

Sleek & Sumptuous

What it is

A newly revamped fave with 151 art-stocked rooms, an alfresco cabana-lined pool, and beloved restaurant.

What it isn't

Poorly serviced. Guests are treated with true Southern charm, including 24-hour in-room dining, expert concierges, valet parking and even dry cleaning and laundry, should your margarita topple on your new silk shirt. (It happens).

What we think

In one of the most beloved vacay towns in the nation, new hotels have to work hard to impress—and yet Andaz Savannah makes dropping jaws look easy. Guest rooms are both sleek and modern, yet dotted with nods to history, including panelled walls, wingback headboards and ornate window dressings that look like they were summoned from the 17th century. Starter rooms begin at 305 square feet, and are stocked with gratis snacks, non-alcoholic drinks, and latter-day pampering touches including Cuisinart coffee makers, an ergonomic chair at the desk space, blackout drapes and even a sound machine that can come in handy in the Southern city that never sleeps. To spread out further, we love the Andaz Deluxe Loft; with 451 square feet, it includes a hosting kitchen with granite counters and even an ever-charming Smeg fridge.

You're here because

The pool deck here is nothing less than a scene, complete with fire pits and cabanas that make for buzzing cocktail hours. What’s that saying? When in Savannah.

The Moment

You have an exquisite day ahead of you—wandering Bonaventure Cemetery, renowned for its star turn in “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil,” where Live Oak trees drip poetically with Spanish moss—and exploring the famously fabulous art museum at the Savannah College of Art and Design. So you fuel up at 22 Square, Andaz Savannah’s top notch restaurant, on what might be the best breakfast in town: buttermilk pancakes with pecan wood smoked bacon and, of course, shrimp and grits—these ones with pork belly, leeks and maple smoked cheddar.

Restaurants & Bars

22 Square Restaurant - Indulge in new South cuisine cooked from seasonal.

22 Square Bar - Sip classic and contemporary cocktails shaken.

Terrace Bar - Relax poolside with a signature cocktail in hand.

Location

Only two blocks from the Savannah River, and directly on Ellis Square. Be sure to stop by The Grey, one of the hottest restaurants in town—helmed by Chef Mashama Bailey, it took over a 1938 Greyhound station.
