This was my 3rd time staying in Salem and I’ve only ever booked at the Salem Hotel. Service and stay is always fantastic and the location is wonderful for enjoying downtown Salem. Why stay anywhere else?

The room I had stayed in had suffered severe leakage due to a rain storm which also left both windowsills covered in water. I was accomodated and moved to a different room (with a broken heater) but had taken notice that both of the rooms had incredibly dusty vents which led to poor breathing conditions while staying. I would recommend browsing hotels in the area before booking here and will do so myself for our future stays in the area.

The king suite was perfect for this Dad and adult child. We got to stay together, but have our own privacy too. The rooms are unique, the hotel is in an amazing location, and you can walk to anywhere in town. The real gem of The Hotel Salem, however, is the staff. Every day Doug and Kayla would welcome us back from seeing the sights, recommend a good spot for the next meal, or just chat with us about our time in Salem.

The room felt spacious and cozy all at once. The aesthetics of the hotel are very cool - in that mid-century modern sort of way. The staff was super helpful and accommodating when I needed to modify my checkout time, which was an overall frictionless experience.

The king studio room is unique and makes a great use of available space. Although some items related to fit and finish left a little to be desired all in all was an enjoyable stay. One complaint is with the heat running and sitting to watch tv it was very warm because you are sitting near the vents. Heat doesnt get down near the bed but it was not cold enough to need the heat running most of the night. The large windows that were on ground level were a little unsettling but the blinds fully covered them.

I love this boutique hotel. It is very conveniently located for when we visit family in Salem. The staff is quite friendly and accommodating. The room we stayed in was perfect for us and the hotel has a great vibe. We look forward to staying again in the future.
