Le Sereno Hotel & Villas

Pared-down design right on the beach

What it is

A private paradise for design friends.

What it isn't

A place to be seen; head to Gustavia for the party.

What we think

Le Sereno, the newest member of St. Barth's high-end hotel club, perfectly exemplifies the island's chic vibe. On a privileged slice of sand in Grand Cul-de-Sac, the family-owned and operated hotel is newly rebuilt with just 39 suites—and three villas—all outfitted by renowned Parisian designer Christian Liaigre. With white walls, open floor plans and polished exotic woods, the rooms are spacious and minimalist, evoking the hotel's namesake serenity. Most rooms are beachfront and all have patios or private pools surrounded by lush tropical greenery. Hidden in one of the thick stands of garden is an open-air spa; opt for the Shell Dream massage, which utilizes warm seashells. The oceanfront restaurant evokes the Mediterranean, with house-made pastas and freshly caught fish.

Seasonal closure: End of August to end of October.

You're here because

You want a low-profile, tropical getaway with a contemporary French touch.

The Moment

The hotel's staff met your flight and whisked you through customs and immigration, and now you're speeding to the hotel, where you'll be greeted by a smiling woman holding a canvas beach bag with custom Havaianas flip-flops.
