- Reviewed in the United States on May 11, 2018I had a can of the old Brasso that I have used for many years. I finally needed to replace it, and was reluctant to buy the "new" Brasso because of all the bad reviews. Since it wasn't expensive, I decided to try it anyway. To my complete surprise, it worked far better than the "old" Brasso did for polishing brass. To be fair, this may be because MY old Brasso was very old; perhaps the compound changed, or there was some evaporation, or something similar. I can only say that the "new" Brasso did a great job polishing several brass plaques that had not been touched for decades (literally). It took much less time than I had expected. The material dispenses as a paste, is easy to use, and quite effective. I am glad I bought it!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2017As a trumpet player who appreciates a well-kept instrument, I clean my horn regularly. Despite this, I have found that over the years, the coloration of my slides had turned from a bright gold to a sickly brown. I bought Brasso to clean the raw brass sections of my trumpet slides; worked like a charm! My slides look nicer than when I bought the instrument new. And, to top it all off, run smoother than ever. A warning to anybody looking to clean a brass instrument with this product: DO NOT use it to clean the instrument itself! Brasso will eat-through the lacquer from the instrument and leave you with an ugly, raw-brass horn.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2013I see all these reviews about the "old formula" being much better, but i have zero complaints about this product.
I purchased Brasso to get the discoloration off the hardware from an old dresser. I bought the dresser used so i have no idea how old it was i also had no idea what the original color of the hardware was, but figured it was worth a shot to use a polisher to try & figure it out. I soaked the six drawer pulls (each set consisting of a handle + two decorate plates) for 20 minutes and even that might have been too long. Brasso is VERY strong... my eyes & nose were sensitive to the fumes, but the hardware came out shiny & bright!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 25, 2015It's not the same Brasso it was a few decades back, but it will still get the job done so long if you clean the brass first and use this on a buffing wheel.
I had borrowed some Brasso from my dad that was a goldenrod color and had the consistency of thinned paint. It worked so well that I didn't even need a buffing wheel or even to have a fully cleaned surface; I could slap some of it on and hand polish it with some paper towel even.
However, to my dismay, they had apparently changed the formula since then, and performing a hand polish actually left me with a dulled surface as opposed to a polished one.
You can thin the cleaner out if you know what you're doing, but I still have yet to find a way to make it work just like it used to. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. It can still polish if you use a buffing wheel etc but...the only idea I have as to why they made their formula worse was to comply with environmental regulations. I compared the two labels and while both were extremely vague as to the ingredients, they did have some differences here and there.
So overall, don't buy it if you intend to hand-polish with it. You will need a buffing wheel for that.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2017This is great stuff and it works amazing. The only downside I have is the smell started to give me a headache. It really cleaned up my Louis but it did seem to dry out the leather around the area I cleaned so I grabbed my leather conditioner and gave it a good condition so I'd recommend a good conditioner if you are using this on one of your favorite handbags.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 11, 2013I've used Brasso for years around the house and on my vehicles. I ran out a few weeks ago, ordered and received a bottle, and I just finished cleaning the shower door and trim-there were water spots on the trim that regular cleaners wouldn't remove. Everything is now nice and shiny. It also keeps our stainless steel sink in the kitchen looking like new.
I also use it on my vehicle windshields along with some 0000 steel wool. It cleans any grime and gunk off, and the windshield is perfect after cleaning it with Brasso.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 13, 2018Works great. Inherited several brass and copper pieces that were in storage and not cleaned for at least a decade. Now the pieces are beautiful. I wore rubber gloves and worked the polish into the piece in sections then after it dried I rubbed in circular motions with the Handi-wipe. I used Handi-wipes because the clothes weren't any good after several areas were cleaned. Some age spots took two or three cleanings to come out. I was surprised because I thought the dark spots won't come out but nearly all of them did.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 26, 2017Ok so I'm not much of a reviewer but I thought this product was more than worthy. This was my first experience with brasso. We recently bought a house built in 1933 that has the original brass interior door knobs skeleton lock style. So I'm not much of an antique guy but thought the skeleton locks were cool so decided to keep them and just clean them. Obviously I am the first owner of the house that had this idea and man was it worth it. To my surprise this product actually made these look brand new u wouldn't know these handles are a 100 years old. Love this product wouldn't hesitate to buy more from this company.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this product for all my brass.
I loves all things brass but don't like the patina look. I love using Brasso while cleaning all my brass figures and home decor. Within minutes it's removes aged patina and my brass looks good as new. Perfect for DIYers whi need to polish brass handles on vintage dressers.

I had 2 very tarnished brass coffee tables, using brasso and a lot of scrubbing turned them back to their new/polished state. Highly recommend this stuff for brass cleaning.
