  • Stabilizing Plate - The big change from the original Skerton, the Plus adds a plate that helps to keep the lower burr steady while grinding.
  • Ceramic Burrs - Precisely shaped and turned for coffee grinding, these burrs make short work of beans without requiring too much force.
  • Ball Jar Thread - Included catch jar too small? Swap it out with any regular-mouth ball jar.
  • Clean and Clear - The Skerton Plus is easy to disassemble (with no tools) for cleaning and maintenance.

Overview

A light refresh to an old classic, the Hario Skerton Plus aims to improve on the time-tested grind of the original design. While the plus maintains the original Skerton's iconic shape and ergonomics, the addition of a stabilizing plate helps keep the grind consistent at coarser settings. You'll still get the same sharp ceramic burrs and ball jar compatible threading—just with better performance for French press and pour over brew methods.

Very nice grinder, but laborious.
This is a great burr grinder. But everyone is right, it takes me 3-4 minutes to grind 25g. It’s worth it if you have the time and don’t need to grind more than a few cups. One other note: I’m not sure it grinds fine enough for espresso, but it’s great for pour over. Would totally buy it again!

Love it!
It is not the fastest grinder I’ve owned but I overlook that for all the pluses. I own two so I have a backup for parts as the ceramic burrs will eventually wear out. It has the most even grind of any grinder I have owned and my favorite plus is it is so easy to clean. No more instant rice trying to clean out metal grinders. Wash by hand daily & once a week I dissemble it & fun through the dishwasher. My second one even has a new part to help stabilize the grinder. Highly recommend!

Well Made and Compact
Very cool little grinder, works well with its own jar or on a mason jar for Lots of fresh grind coffee. Compact little powerhouse of a grinder!

I like it!
Very serviceable little hand grinder. Tough to grip a bit, but it?s expected with price. Grinds fine enough for a pressurized portafilter.

Glass Chipped on First Use
During the first use, the top edge of the glass chipped after being hit by the top plastic reservoir. Aside from the small thing, the entire thing appears to be very well constructed and high quality for the price. I'd just be wary of the hardness of the plastic as compared to the glass when putting the top on to use it.

Great value hand mill
This mill is a great value for the quality. Coarser grinds are not the most consistent but the unit is sturdy and easy to setup, disassemble, and clean. Grinding enough for a French press carafe in the morning is a 3 minute affair and the unit is perfect for travel/camping.

kicka** hand grinder!!
This thing is amazing! This thing is super well built, inexpensive, and very practical. The particle size is very even and makes for a nice extraction when doing pour over and french press. My one issue is probably with the variation in grind sizes, I find that this is only good for one specific size for drip and one for french press, and everything else is a bit of a mess. But honestly for the quality level of the product and the price, I'm willing to overlook that stuff.

PRO TIP: Do not use this for making coffee in the morning on workdays if you can help it, it takes me 3-4 minutes everyday to grind my 25 grams of coffee ( I timed it ).

OK
The Skerton Plus grinder is OK. It is easy to grind, and the hopper and base hold sufficient coffee. But it doesn't hold a candle to the Skerton Pro, which costs only a few dollars more and is MUCH easier to set the grind. The soft plastic top on the Plus is also kind of tacky. We had a Pro already, and tried the Plus for our cabin, but we weren't satisfied. Seattle Coffee Gear should offer the Skerton Pro.
