Right out of the box these aids worked well! They were charged and ready to go. I put them in my ears and after getting them properly settled I realized that the world is full of sound! My ears took a couple of days to get used to wearing them but after the adjustment period, they were as comfortable as a pair of glasses or earrings! There is an option to change the mode but I haven't found the need to do that yet as I'm working indoors as a tax accountant. I knew right after my first appointment that getting these aids was a smart move for me... I wasn't straining to hear the client or smiling like I did hear them when my brain was trying to figure out what they really said! I wish I would have done this a couple of years ago.

Modes are Amazing!
If you need help amplifying sounds/blocking out excess sound this is perfect for you!They are small and have a handy carrying case that recharges them so you don't have to worry about constantly buying new batteries, just plug it in for a while and you're set!It has 4 different modes that come in handy in most everyday situations. My favorite would be restaurant mode which really helps you focus on and amplify the voices of the people at the table with you (without having to say what every 5 seconds); and tv mode which totally changed watching TV for me (and my family lol), I was able to cut the TV volume in half as well as hear things that I was never able to pick up on before!For the price, you really can't beat what these do for you, they are a game changer.The only thing I will say is to make sure you take the time to find the right size ear piece and the right position in your ear before you give up, you just have to make it fit you!
