New York City

What’s not to love about The Big Apple? New York City has always been one of my favorite destinations to visit in the world because of its size, energy, and wide range of things to do. Now that I live here, I have a local’s inside perspective on the best places to eat, play, and stay!

While Queens is my favorite borough because of how diverse it is (the Jackson Heights neighborhood has an extensive number of restaurants boasting international cuisine), I still suggest spending time discovering Manhattan. However, instead of flagging a taxi (they can be expensive and slow!) I recommend exploring via the subway, or better yet, on foot. My advice? Book a walking tour of SoHo, Little Italy, and Chinatown for a bit of history, great shopping, and mouth-watering eats like cannolis and chow mein; and stay at the PUBLIC Hotel for its modern, sleek decor and killer location in the heart of Nolita. Not only is the hotel a stone’s throw away from famous spots like Katz’s Deli, the neon escalators at the hotel entrance are super photogenic and great fodder for your Instagram feed!

Nashville

If you’re a fan of good tunes, Nashville will honky tonk its way into your heart! It’s nicknamed the “Music City” for good reason-- I’ve never been to a place with so many venues to enjoy live musical performances.

With that said, you MUST take in a concert at the Grand Ole Opry as it’s an experience that can’t be missed. Also be sure to do a trolley tour of Nashville at night-- not only will you visit important landmarks, you’ll learn facts and insider stories about the history of Music City all while being treated to illuminated skyline views.

As for where to rest your head, book a stay at the Dream Nashville for its central location and, well, dreamy art deco-inspired rooms. And of course, a stay in Nashville isn’t complete without eating some Nashville hot chicken at Prince’s, which is a favorite among locals and tourists alike!
