The La Posta Vecchia Hotel was a pleasant surprise, a hidden gem close to Fiumicino Airport. We spent three nights before departing Italy, following a trip to Positano and Rome. The hotel manager was kind enough to upgrade us to the beautiful Tower Suite with views over the ocean. The Cocktail Bar was a quiet oasis to relax and read, and the food and service in the restaurant were excellent. We enjoyed touring the grounds and walking the promenade of the nearby beach. It is a spectacular hotel, and we will definitely be back.

La Posta Vecchia was built in 1640 on Roman ruins that can be admired in the hotel's museum. Located just outside Ladispoli, this 5-star hotel offers luxury rooms, plus a free wellness area, tennis court, and equipped private beach. Featuring antique furnishings, all rooms are very spacious and air conditioned. They come with free Wi-Fi, a mini-bar, and a flat-screen TV with DVD player. Breakfast is buffet style and the elegant restaurant, The Cesar, serves organic Mediterranean cuisine out on the terrace overlooking the sea. You can relax at the spa with indoor swimming pool and Turkish bath. Massages can be organized on request. Set on the coast between Rome and Civitavecchia, this Roman villa is 10 minutes' drive from Cerveteri-Ladispoli Train Station.
