In a prime Mountain Village spot steps from the gondola into town, this stone-and-stucco resort feels pleasingly intimate, despite the fact that it has 84 guest rooms, 49 suites, and several dozen permanent residences. The polished staff, which includes a personal assistant stationed in the cozy Living Room (stocked around the clock with coffee and snacks) are as courteous as they come: This is the place where waitstaff remember special requests from the day before, and ski valets will personally wipe down and warm up your gear. Reserve a seat at M’s Restaurant, a farm-to-table operation where you can sample the best of the Rockies, like slabs of tender Colorado beef, or grab a drink at Bar M before you take on the town.
