Glestain knives are easily recognizable due to their distinctive design and styling, which is unlike other ‘ordinary’ knives: The unique rectangular-shaped dimples that are ground in to one side of the blade, the pleasant balance and weight of the knife and the secure grip provided by the comfortable handles.

The blade of Glestain knife is made from a special stainless steel called ACUTO440 (HRc. 59) and features unique dimples, which provide extra cutting performance and reduce the likelihood of food sticking to the blade.

This knife has comfortable black pakka wood handle and a stainless steel bolster, which provides good blade balance and a fine grip.

The Gyuto is the Japanese version of the classic Western Chef’s knife. It can be used with a variety of different cutting techniques to achieve a wide range of kitchen tasks and is suitable for cutting the vast majority of meats, fish, vegetables and fruits. The Gyuto is true multi-purpose knife.

Glestain Gyuto 210mm

This knife is amazingly sharp, easy to maintain. Carrots, potatoes does not stick. This is my number 1 choice now in my kitchen. I have not sharpened in 3 weeks use and I use it daily being a home cook. It cuts smoothly with pork butt, beef sirloin, chicken ( avoiding bones) even frozen butter, dicing parsley, shallots, onions, garlic. Very similar to other sharp Japanese knives main difference is starchy foods do not stick as much - a lot less. The grantons on these knife really work.

Fantastic service once again

The knife arrived fantastically quickly I ordered it online Sunday afternoon and it was with me Wednesday morning in the UK. The knife is fantastically sharp out of the box and the pleasure to use my only criticism of it is that when you hold the knife“ choked up “ it’s very sharp on your fingers.
