Kaju Green has to be the most unique 5-star hotel I have stayed at. It is as close to nature as you can get and sits within a bird sanctuary and the jungle. The design of the villas is unique and very stylish, with the walls of the lodges/villas made of thin small bamboo halves so you can be in your room and hear the sounds of the birds and the jungle. There is a huge sense of peace and well-being at this hotel, and the food is all organic. The staff are great, very friendly and helpful. This hotel is close to a turtle beach, which you must go to when you're staying here as the turtles literally come up to you and you can feed them.

Amazing place in the south of Sri Lanka. The place itself is like a peace of paradise. We stayed for 2 nights and definitely loved it and had an amazing time. Fabulous design, beautiful rooms that bring in the best aspects of the jungle while retaining the amenities of a luxury stay. The staff were super friendly, always available and happy to help. The food was very delicious, freshly cooked and offers locally sourced products. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quality stay and a different kind of hotel experience. We truly enjoyed every single second there.

Kaju Green is a really unique stay - it is situated on an island in a nature reserve. The cabins are beautifully designed to fit into the surrounding nature, and very comfortable, and we were very kindly upgraded upon arrival! The pool area was very luxurious, with bean bags and a cosy sofa area to relax. We opted for the food package, and although fairly limited, it was very tasty and plentiful. The staff were very kind, and they also offer free kayak use in the surrounding canals, where you can see plenty of wildlife, including the migration of flying fox bats - this was a particular highlight. The hotel also offers a free daily tuk-tuk service down to Unawatuna.
