Women's Active Shoes

It seems like we hear a lot about “the active lifestyle” these days, but what does that even mean? Running three miles on a beautiful day in a pair of Tree Flyer 2’s? That definitely counts. But even if your idea of being active these days means commuting to work or driving your kids from school, your feet will enjoy the ride while nestled in a comfy pair of Allbirds women's active shoes. And, of course, should you feel like making it by the gym for some proper active time between everything, they’re equally up for that task as well.

As it turns out, Allbirds’ signature combination of comfort, style, and sustainability results in a versatile pair of shoes you can wear from the workout to the checkout without skipping a single, solitary beat. • For everyday runs, we suggest the Tree Dasher 2, which we’ve engineered with our signature ZQ-Certified merino wool and FSC-Certified tree materials for performance, while still having a low impact on the environment. The Tree Dasher 2 has a breathable and flexible eucalyptus tree fiber upper, a responsive midsole made from sugarcane-based SweetFoam, and a natural rubber outsole for traction.

For longer runs, we suggest the Tree Flyer. Lightweight, super springy, and supremely comfortable, this distance running shoe features a cushioned SwiftFoam midsole that also optimizes energy return, making long runs easier on your body, and a breathable eucalyptus tree fiber upper for next-level comfort over any distance.

For off-road and cross-country runners, we suggest the Trail Runners SWT, which feature a lugged outsole designed to provide better grip and traction on various off-road surfaces, a toe bumper for extra protection when navigating rough terrain, and a reinforced heel counter and supportive midsole to provide increased stability and support on uneven surfaces.

  • You better believe it! Three Allbirds shoes designs are made for getting out there and running: The Tree Dasher 2 (everyday runs), Tree Flyers (long-distance runs), and Trail Runners SWT (off-road running).

Just ask our fans: reviews range from comments like, “my feet are not even on my mind during runs and workouts.” (Danielle S.) to “I love the lightweight feeling and I love how my feet feel when I am running!” (Elizabeth S.)

Not a runner? For explosive HIIT workouts and cross training, try the SuperLight Trainers, weighing in at a barely-there weight of 4 ounces. If golfing is more your jam, hit the course with the Golf Dashers

  • Running shoes tend to be lighter in weight than most everyday shoes, with added cushioning for the heel and the toe. They are also more breathable, allowing air to escape and minimizing moisture and humidity—which helps prevent unpleasantness like chafing and blisters.

Running shoes usually offer more durability than other shoes as well, because they’re typically designed to withstand hundreds of miles of use under harsher conditions.

  • You won’t want to buy smaller than your normal shoe size. It’s best to have just a little extra room (about a thumb's width) between your longest toe and the tip of the shoe. If your toe is jamming against the shoe or if the sides of your feet feel pinched, go up a half size. Some people buy their running shoes half a size bigger than their regular shoe size.
