Comfortable. Five-fingered flexi-grip. For left or right hand. Withstands extreme heat up to 540 degrees F. The Ove Glove is perfect for the kitchen, barbeque and handling hot surfaces around the house. The Ove Glove exterior layer is made of heat and flame material used by firefighters. Interior layer of soft doubleknit cotton. Machine washable. The tough exterior of this glove forms a thermal isolation barrier, slowing the temperature increase in the interior layer of soft doubleknit cotton. When exposed to an open flame, the outer layer of glove does not catch fire and does not melt. The tough exterior layer of the glove is designed as a thermal insulator to slow the temperature increase in the soft, double knit cotton interior of the glove. Machine washable.

My old Ove Glove fits my hand great. It also has a hanging loop and tag inside the wrist. This Ove. Glove has no tags and the fingers are much tighter. The wrist is also much wider. I think it will do the job but I’ll look for the original next time even though it’s a few dollars more.

    This is the pack of one glove but they are also sold in a pack of two. I already had one I've used for several years so I bought this single glove to go with it for the times I need to use both hands. (An Ove Glove is the same on both sides so it will fit either hand.) They are roomy but still work fine with my small hands. They work like a good potholder but with a better grip, and protect the back of your hand and wrist. Like a regular potholder, the heat will begin to come through after a minute or two but they work well for kitchen, BBQ, etc. uses. They are also easy to use with a regular potholder if you need to hold something hot for a longer time; much easier than trying to hold two regular potholders together.

    The new glove I received (sold by Joseph Enterprises and shipped from Amazon) seems identical to my old Ove Glove, except the outer material seems a little looser knit, but that may be because my old one has been washed a few times. Unlike what some buyers experienced, my new one has the same tag and hanging loop just inside the wrist, and the packaging looks legit. Joseph Enterprises is the original manufacturer of the Ove Glove so they are a legit seller.

    Ove Gloves can be machine washed and air dried; don't use bleach or fabric softener. The package doesn't state this but there was a small paper insert with washing directions. They get excellent ratings on Consumer Reports and are a useful kitchen item. I've also ordered the pack of two to give for a gift.

    Cannot say enough about how great this glove is! Fits everyone in my household well which was my biggest fear as our hands range from petit to large. I've had some oven gloves where the heat starts to come through after holding the pan too long, as in after the first 5 seconds. I tested this glove by holding a cast iron handle that had been in a 400 degree oven for 20 minutes. After 5 minutes I got tired of holding the handle, never felt any heat!! Definitely buying more to replace all my existing pot holders.

    I've had an Ove Glove since they first came out, way back when. I've used quite a few different pot holders over the more than 50 years I've been cooking; now I can't figure out why I didn't just get another of these! Oh, well. I did now and I was oh so happy to find the new one is the same great quality as the old one. I love that it's a glove rather than a mitten - that gives you much greater control of whatever you're maneuvering. As some have noted, if you have really big hands your fingers will be a tight fit; I do and they are but it's worth the effort to squeeze them in. Also as others have noted, and this is true of probably all pot holders, don't use them if they're wet.

    The heat resistance in these gloves is unbelievable. My husband literally has 4 of them, which might be a tad excessive given he only has two hands, but clearly they’re that worth it.

    He loves to grill on his big green egg. If you or someone you know has one of these large ceramic grills, you know the extreme temperatures they can reach. I can’t tell you the amount of times my husbands impatient fingers snuck into the heat the grill in hopes to break off a little appetizer while he awaits the meal to completely finish. The hairs on his knuckles fried off (probably into my piece of grilled salmon…), and his finger prints quite literally melted off onto the ceramic plate that he accidentally grazed while trying to be sneaky.

    This man kept taking my kitchen hot pads and burning straight through them, and then kindly returned them to me thinking I wouldn’t notice. Well I did. And I bought these. And omg now I steal these from him. They are honestly mind blowing. I have no idea how they work, but they do.

    Does your husband love to grill and keep taking your fancy All-Clad pot holders outside to get covered in soot and grill marks? If so, he needs these asap. Give them to your dad, your brother, your mother, your neighbor, your friends… the whole world needs them. They’re the best gifts. They may not say much when they first get them, but I promise once they use them, you’re going to get a phone call saying “these are awesome.”

    Buy them. Save your mans finger prints. He’s going to think they’re cool and so will you. Plus you can wash them which is a win in my book.
