I've been searching for a way to get my Macbook Pro to output to a 4k LG C3 48" OLED TV, and with this cable adapter I was able to get the full 120hz output and have smoother feedback from scrolling, mouse cursor movement, no more ghosting.
I had to update the adapter with a Windows Computer using an update tool and firmware update for the adapter. All through Cable Matters and Reddit. Recommend it and watch a video on how to do it on YouTube, super easy.

Enables 4k@120Hz on M2 Mac Mini!
I rarely write reviews, but here I got something extraordinary! This little thing just solved a very annoying limitation set by Apple for its M2 Mac Mini (non-pro) that I got. This Mac Mini limits all connected displays to 60Hz, including for 4k. Even if it supports 8k60 which means, it should also support 4k240, but no! Not via HDMI, not via Thunderbolt 4. With this dongle it is doable (see my screenshot). It required special firmware update, but it was pretty easily done, as long as you have spare Windows PC. And after that it makes its magic. Hint: just in case you have to disconnect all displays first and then connect one with 120Hz back, disable HDR, and you should see this option in the settings dropdown. And yes, for non-Mac systems it also works like a charm: I've tried it with my Windows Laptop which was limiting output to 4k60Hz as well, and this dongle enabled 120Hz there right away, without even special firmware. Just make sure you have a HDMI 2.1 (not 2.0!) cable, and HDMI 2.1 input in your monitor.

I am running on a PC trying to add a third monitor with this device.
I plugged it in and it does not work.
No installation, no image of any kind on my monitor. I tried two different HDMI cables. It just does nothing but light a blue light on the device.
There are no instructions in the box. Just a note to "Search on the model number". After finding the (unlabeled) model number, a search gave little. The only thing I could find was a way to upgrade the firmware. I tried to upgrade the firmware, but the updater said I have the latest version of the firmware.
I basically have a pointless bit of plastic with a blue light.
The online troubleshooter basically says to check your HDMI cable. Cable Matters should really think about some kind of instructions.
Think twice before you roll the dice with this product.

Ich mag meinen NUC 13 Pro (NUC13ANHi7), hatte einen Monitor via USB-C und einen LG 48C1 TV via HDMI angeschlossen. Da das mit HDMI 2.1 Kabeln immer so eine Sache ist habe ich einfach nochmal eine vorherige Bestellung erneut ausgelöst. Das Kabel funktioniert wunderfein mit einer 3080 und dem LG TV.WynterEndlich wurde mein HDMI Flackern Problem am NUC 13 Pro gelöst!

Nur warum flackert denn jetzt der NUC so merkwürdig? Das passiert immer, wenn ein Video im Browser läuft und was anderes nebenher passiert, ich z.B. auf der Seite mit dem Video scrolle.
Nach einer längeren Suche schien des Problems Lösung immer wieder die Deaktivierung der Hardwarebeschleunigung in den Browsern zu sein. Das hat auch funktioniert, nur lag dann deutlich mehr Last an der CPU an, was wiederum die Lüftergeräusche nervig machten.
Der NUC ist ja eh schon relativ laut und heult bei Kleinigkeiten auf. Etwas Ruhe habe ich da reingebracht indem ich den bebilderten Anweisungen im Prad Artikel "Intel NUC 12 Pro: So zügeln Sie den Lüfter des Mini-PCs" gefolgt bin.
Also habe ich weitergesucht und bin dann auf die Cable Matters Adapter und Kabel aufmerksam geworden. Gesucht, hier gelandet, bestellt, bekommen, angeschlossen und läuft. Die Sache mit nötigen Firmware Updates ist wohl lange genug her und ich musste mich damit nicht rumschlagen.
Durch die Verschiebung des LG C1 von einem eingeschränkten HDMI 2.1 auf DP1.4 kann ich jetzt auch wieder die Hardwarebeschleunigung nutzen. Das Display lässt sich jetzt auch mit den nativen 120Hz betreiben.
"VRR/G-Sync wird nicht unterstützt." -- Lustigerweise zeigt mir das Intel ARC Panel an VRR sei aktiv. Ich spiele am NUC aber eigentlich nicht. Vom bekannten G-Sync Flackern merke ich hier auch nichts. Vielleicht hängt das ja eher mit dem Standard als VRR allgemein zusammen.
Schade, dass ich extra einen 33 EUR teuren Adapter kaufen musste, um das Problem zu lösen. Dafür wirkt das Cable Matters Produkt dann allerdings sehr wertig. Es wird auch relativ warm, vielleicht im unteren 40C Bereich. Achtet darauf dem Ding ein wenig Luft zu geben und stopft es nicht irgendwo zwischen.
