Great for home theater room!
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great projector overall! Great picture quality. The only thing I would have liked to see is a more intuitive home screen and remote. Once you get used to it, you can navigate fine but when setting up and trying to make picture adjustments, I think it could have been easier.

A near perfect upgrade from my 75" Samsung TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros - Easy to set up - Bright image suitable for well-lit room with ALR screen - Great contrast - Excellent image quality - Excellent 3D Cons - Terrible OS with a horrible selection of mediocre apps - No ability to manually enable 3D mode for viewing of streaming 3D content (YouTube) I chose to upgrade from my previous 75" Samsung 3D capable 4K television to this 3D capable Ultra Short Throw Laser Projector and a 100" Ambient Light Rejecting screen. For me, this Ultra Short Throw Projector was the best option. More expensive than a ceiling mounted projector, but comparable in price and far easier to implement when taking into account the added time and expense of running electrical/network/video cables to a location in the ceiling. The self contained projector also has the benefit of a very quiet cooling fan, which when located further away (as opposed to over the viewing area) is inaudible. If I was only able to have manual control over 3D so I could view 3D content available on YouTube I would rate it a full 5/5 ⭐

INSANE MOVIE NIGHTS!!!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My First projector and ultra-short throw. Using an Elite Screens Aeon CLR Series, 120-inches 16:9 Edge Free, Fixed frame, and with LED light kit. model# AR120h-CLR Using Sony 4k Ultra HD Player, Roku 4k, media pc, Denon X3500H, and DefTech speakers 1- CS9040 / 4- BP9040.(for now...) It looks decent on just a plain darker wall, better at night, and best with Elite Screen. Set up was pretty easy.

AMAZING QUALITY!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was not extremely easy to set up the projector but the screen centering was a pain. The sound is very good for a portable speaker. The color and brightness are amazing, it is a very vibrant picture. I use it for gaming and there is a slight lag but for a non-hardcore gamer it is not a deal breaker. I just ehard warner brothers is releasing their movies to hbo max and the screen and projector will make for awesome movie premieres.

More then I could have expected!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture quality is superb. Especially if used with the right screen. We opted to buy the Optoma 100” ALR screen available through Best Buy. We are over the moon. If you can buy it, do it. Worth the splurge. Optoma branded internal apps leave something to be desired.

Q: QuestionCan this projector play 3d movies? If so what glasses do I need to buy?
Asked by Techman.
- A:Answer Yes it does! Supports all HDMI 1.4a mandatory 3D formats (Frame pack, side-by-side, top-bottom) and up converts frame rate from 60Hz to 120Hz or 24Hz to 144Hz (i.e. 60 or 72 frames per eye). 3D glasses are needed and sold separately. Refer to user manual for details. Ordered mine today... can't wait to give it a try

Q: Questionhow many inches does it project
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer 120” is the max; works best with taller ceilings. I’m trying it out in my basement, which has a 93” ceiling- the projector has to be about 11” off the floor to fit that ceiling height. Also, the SmartFIT doesn’t work reliably, and if you put into game mode, you lose any manual settings. I have until 10/24 to return it; jury is still out. Also, though I’m using an ALR screen, still a poor picture in ambient light, and still a bit dark image with lights out. I suspect the unit would work better with a higher ie, 9 ft or taller ceiling. Hope that helps!

Q: QuestionI’m not having any luck with info on troubleshooting my Optoma Cinemax P2 projector. After trying to update the firmware, the projector isn’t working and won’t turn on. Flashing red lights (one on the bulb, one on the power) Suggestions? This is anewdevice
Asked by Dadoftwoboys.
- A:Answer Optoma released a firmware update and many people had an unknown error on their mainboard. The firmware update exposed this and it must be returned to Optoma for repair for most people. It should be under warranty since this projector is less than a year old since release. Contact Optoma for service.
