The 'Ultra' provides complete custom programming for pressure and non-pressure cooking. Now, one can set the exact parameters desired to achieve perfect results each and every time. With the 'Altitude' adjustment, the guesswork is eliminated from a recipe conversion providing a more precise cooking time. Designed with a large, blue LCD display with a 'Cooking Indicator' to provide one a clear visual on the progress of your dish from preheating, cooking, and Keep Warm. A central dial with a simple turn and press provides added precision in program selection and adjustments. And, the new - 'Steam Release Reset Button' ensures the safer handling of the steam release after cooking is completed. Built with 16 smart programs: Soup/Broth, Meat/Stew, Bean/Chili, Cake, Egg, Slow Cook, Saute/Searing, Rice, Multigrain, Porridge, Steam, Sterilize, Yogurt, Warm, Pressure Cook, and Ultra. Now, your favorite dishes are as simple as selecting your preferences and having them ready up to 70% faster. With the 'Sterilize' program one can pasteurize dairy products, sterilize baby bottles, jars, and utensils; As well as, perform certain types of canning much more conveniently than ever before The 'Cake Maker' is designed to prepare soft and moist cakes and the 'Egg' prepares perfect eggs in just a few minutes. America's most trusted brand has moved into a category of its own with the Instant Pot Ultra Delay Start time - Up to 24 hours.
How It Works:
The microprocessor carefully runs lab-tested algorithms to control the time, cooking pressure and temperature to ensure consistent cooking results. Users can customize these settings to control pressure level, adjust cooking time and a cancel button, allowing one to achieve their preferred cooking results. For instance, the “meat/stew” key is programmed to prepare perfectly tender, thoroughly heated meat dishes; however, users can attain fall-off-the-bone results by adjusting the cooking time.
The fully sealed environment traps the flavors, nutrients, and aromas of the food instead of releasing them throughout the home. During pressure-cooking, heat is distributed evenly, deeply and quickly once pressure is built. In addition, minimal water is required for steaming so vitamins and minerals are not leached or dissolved. As a result, greens retain their bright colors and phytonutrients, meats and bones are thoroughly cooked yet tender, and whole grains and beans are soft and delicious, all with remarkable consistency.
Designed to cater to varying tastes and food conditions, Ultra has adjustable settings to achieve one’s desired cooking results; 3 temperatures in ‘Sauté’ for searing, simmering or thickening for a maximum time of 30 minutes, and 3 temperatures in ‘Slow Cook’ to complete the tasks of a common slow cooker, ‘Keep Warm’, and 3 temperatures in ‘Warm’ to preheat food.
The 24-hour delay start allows users to postpone the cooking start to have dinner ready when you are. Automatic ‘Keep Warm’ holds the temperature of the meal until you are ready to serve. With the ultra, one can easily turn the ‘Keep Warm’ function on/off. Power supply: 120V – 60Hz.

Not new to pressure cooking but WOW!

- Reviewed in the United States on August 14, 2019I was looking at Instant Pots and was considering getting the mini (3qt) because I live alone but several reviews said (and I confirmed with a few searches) that most of the accessories available only fit the 6qt or 8qt sizes. Since I wanted to maximize the Pot's utility, that was important. Then, when I saw an Amazon Warehouse deal on a 6 qt Ultra -- top of the line! -- for less than the regular price of the Mini Duo that had fewer features, I jumped on it. It said it had significant visual flaws on the lid, but I didn't really care as long as it functioned properly. Well, the flaws are on the inside of the lid and are barely noticeable, so I feel like I got a terrific bargain.
It doesn't take more than a couple minutes to get to full pressure and start the cooktime, and the steam release button works very rapidly.
Though i haven't yet decided on what accessory set[s] to buy, I know at least I want a springform pan: I kluged a form to make a cheesecake in this device, as it is the easiest bain marie, and I was amazed to find it came out really well (it looked pretty wobbly right out of the pot, but it firmed up nicely in the refrigerator). I have cooked 3 pounds of chicken breast on the bone in less than 8 minutes, it was moist and tender, and the bones remained soft enough to give them to my dog - he's a terrier who gnaws everything to dust and doesn't gulp his food, but I don't give him bones from roast chicken, only boiled. Because pressure cooking uses less water than regular boiling, more of the flavor stays in the meat. I also cooked a big pork chop on the bone for 3 minutes after browning it a bit (using the saute setting, then adding water and sealing) and it was nicely tender despite being not a bit pink inside (i used a salty solution rather than plain water). I have yet to make yogurt, but i used the yogurt setting to foster a rapid ferment of fruit wine (found IP instructions on the internet) that turned out great (alternate between venting and not venting the developing CO2); I'm thinking it might also work for other ferments that a low heat promotes, such as kimchi, sauerkraut, tofu misozuke, etc -- i'm not into kombucha but maybe it would work for that too. I'm looking forward to using it for water-bath canning (the pressure is not high enough for true pressure canning, you need the Instant Pot Max for that), but it can sterilize empty jars and lids, and then substitute for a canning kettle waterbath for jams and pickles. Maybe the 8qt is a better choice if you do *a lot* of canning jams, fruit, pickles and sauerkraut (high acid foods don't need pressure canning), but for the amount I do the 6qt will suffice, and it takes up enough room on the counter, I can't imagine how big the 8qt's footprint is.
I'm also looking forward to doing beans in it in a much shorter timeframe than with a slowcooker (tho there is also a slowcooker setting on this pot), because dry beans are cheaper but previously took a lot of planning to use. Now if I want to make sweet red bean baste steambuns, I can do it all in one day without a pot on the stove to watch. i'm notorious for getting distracted and burning pots with beans or rice on the stove, that's why I bought a ricecooker and a crockpot -- both of which can now be retired, since the Instant Pot also did 2 cups of a wild and brown rice mixture, normally at least a 40-minute project in the rice cooker and inevitably if the wild rice is fully softened, the brown rice kernels have exploded, but if the brown rice is done perfectly the wild rice is still a bit too tough... in the IP they *both* came out perfectly cooked, in just 25 minutes, with only 2 cups of stock to 2 cups of dry rice!
This has quickly become my favorite kitchen gadget, especially in the hot summer when I don't want to turn the oven or even rangetop on. The Instant Pot contains virtually all its heat until you release the pressure, and even then it's not nearly as warming of the kitchen as traditional cooking, and its easy to just position it right under the ceiling vent so the steam rises up and out of the house!
It doesn't do everything, of course -- you'll never make a pizza, a baguette, or a crackly-skin roast bird in an Instant Pot -- but there is so much it does, in such a short time. I doubted I would ever buy one when I first heard about them, but I'm sold now. I might even get a mini to have for smaller meals, just so I use less electricity.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 18, 2018My daughter purchased this fancy Instant Pot and it's pretty awesome! I talked her into getting the ULTRA version because she likes technology, and she considers this purchase a small investment in her own cookware. It's worth the extra $$.
The electronic controls are easy to read and the programming is very intuitive. I do suggest reading the booklet on using it if you've never used one before. Also, I suggest not attempting to remove the instructional warning sticker from the top. It doesn't want to be removed and is meant to 'stick' around for safety reasons. Plus, it will leave a huge mess if you try to remove it. Ask my daughter.
My very first impression as she unboxed it was the quality of the inner stainless steel cooking bowl. Maybe I'm easily impressed, but the bowl/pot is made of a very thick gauge stainless steel with a extremely thick and heavy bottom that rivals my better cooking pots. And, it's super shiny.
We've cooked quite a few meals and many pots of rice in this now. And as skeptical as I was (and I'm super picky about rice) it is quite safe to ditch your rice cooker once you make this purchase. At high pressure setting rice cooks 12 minutes and comes out done, with a firm texture, and well separated.
We've also cooked several meals with dried beans or peas, which came out awesome, complete with 'bean gravy.' I do suggest that if you want bean gravy to maybe put an extra 5 minutes on the timer and allow the steam to naturally decrease instead of using the instant release button. An extra 5 minutes, that's nothing compared to the hours of soaking and boiling I've done in the past. Beans from start to finish in an hour or less. And our family experiences no gas problems with this cooking method. The sausage in the beans is still intact and retains flavor. (And red beans and sausage are a staple down here - all of this bean and rice talk is important to my fellow Louisianians!)
And the controls make delightful little sounds, even when you open the lid!
My daughter is quite a critic of gadgetry, although she loves it. She loves this pot and doesn't regret spending her hard earned cash on this purchase. When she flies the coop and takes this with her, I will most definitely replace this with another.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful cooking appliance. My mother loves the damn thing.
See Im not a believer. At first. I bought this for my mom at her request. And this past week she fired it up to cook me one of her classic dishes - pig feet and winter melon. Usually this dish takes several elements in terms of technique. Most of which revolves around babying the status of the pressure cooker. Checking the pressure, maintaining temperature and maintaining the pressure. This is not easy. Especially given that the recipe usually requires about an hour of stewing in the pressure cooker. But usually what we get is very strong flavoured, fall apart pig feet. It is absolutely delicious.
But now what this thing has done is completely renewed that entire procedure. In fact I'm pretty sure my mother is about to throw out the pressure cooker. Because this Instant Pot was able to cook that dish with no babying within 45 minutes. She literally put in the ingredients, added water and turned it on. Put that thing on high for 30 minute cooking and what came out was exactly as tender, pull apart and delicious. It's actually magic because from the outside it looked like there wasn't anything happening.
My mom really loves the thing now. It is also very easy to use. Took her about 5 minutes to figure out how it worked, what dials to turn and what buttons to press. And after the first go, it was simple after that. There is also a recipe book that gives you some very interesting recipes to try out. But even if you don't want to, honestly, this thing makes it so easy. You can replace just about everything in your kitchen.
So, I'd definitely recommend buying it. One weakness I will touch upon is the pressure venting system. After the pressure cooking, the venting is a little dangerous. I think the vent hole and the button you press as well as the pressure indicator (the float that indicates if there is still pressure in the vessel) are all located very close together. So while venting it is more likely to burn yourself by accident. This is not the greatest. But again, read the instructions and be prudent and there shouldn't be a problem.

Hasta ahora no he intentado hacer pasteles.
E) Desventajas

5.0 out of 5 stars Has changed the way I cook; simple to use and amazing food
The Instant Pot Ultra has quickly become my favourite small kitchen appliance. I'm blown away by how much it can do and how easy it is to use it. I was actually afraid of using a pressure cooker (my grandmother had more than a few accidents with hers), but the IP is so easy to use and almost foolproof. (Be sure that the steam vent indicator is down before you open it. Give the pot a jiggle once it is done venting, and then try to vent it again to be extra, super sure it is done and safe.)
The Ultra model is a 10-in-1, allowing you to pressure cook, slow cook, saute, make yogourt, and more. I've made soups, stews, pasta, chicken, mashed potatoes, and a bunch of other dishes and everything (everything!) has turned out great. There are tons of wonderful recipes included with the IP and there are all kinds in the IP app, online, and in some great cookbooks. (I highly recommend The Instant Pot® Electric Pressure Cooker Cookbook: Easy Recipes for Fast & Healthy Meals and The New Pressure Cooker Cookbook: A Tantalizing Collection of Over 200 Delicious Recipes for Quick, Easy, and Healthy Meals.
I have the 6 quart IP, and it is just the right size for a family of three, especially if you like leftovers. I sometimes cook for more people, and I've found I can squeak out a main dish for 5-6 from this model. If you regularly cook for a big group I'd recommend the 8 quart IP.
The controls are very easy to use and very responsive. It takes no effort at all to set up a cooking session and press Start. The screen is big, bright and well labelled.
The IP does come with a short power cord, but the manual explains that this is so it is less like that the pot will be knocked over. You will want to make sure you can place you IP near a power outlet and in a position where it can safely vent (e.g. not directly underneath a cabinet).
I love being able to cook a full meal in less than half the time it would take on the stove. It is great to put everything in the pot, turn it on, and then walk away knowing it will come out great. Some of my old standbys, like chicken and dumplings, taste better out of the IP!
As an aside, I recommend stocking up on a few extra silicone rings as they do absorb scents. One for savour dishes and one for sweet dishes is a good idea (and an extra just in case). I also recommend the Instant Pot Ceramic Coated Non-Stick Inner Cooking Pot, 6 Quart especially if you will be making creamy or cheesy dishes.
HeatherHas changed the way I cook; simple to use and amazing food

The Ultra model is a 10-in-1, allowing you to pressure cook, slow cook, saute, make yogourt, and more. I've made soups, stews, pasta, chicken, mashed potatoes, and a bunch of other dishes and everything (everything!) has turned out great. 5.0 out of 5 stars Versatile kitchen tool, that saves time and adds variety of dishes to our meals rotation.
The media could not be loaded.
Instant Pot Ultra has perfectly answered my needs - it has manual pressure release, customized options and looks beautiful. By the way, the far from being pretty appearance of the previous Instant Pot versions stopped me from buying it.
The reasons I have given my choice to Ultra version are:
- Fully customizable Ultra program - I choose everything according to my needs: pressure, non-pressure cooking, temperature, "keep warm" on/off, time and delayed start.
- Modern and sleek appearance: LCD display and central dial (it's similar to T-Fal Cook4me pressure cooker).
- Pressure release knob - I can control pressure release and safely speed the process up, without covering the countertop with liquids.
- On-the-go setting adjustments.
- Ultra remembers my last customization.
So far I have used Ultra to cook chicken broth, soups, oatmeal, vegetables, cereals, pork, beef and ribs.
So far, the best results I have achieved while using customized features (Ultra).
The oatmeal program didn't work for me at all, for it was saying that oatmeal "burns," and required more water than I'd wish to, so now I'm using customized non-pressure program applied through Ultra option.
The given opportunity to prepare a nice, hearty soup in no-time added a variety of dishes to our winter meals rotation.
A word about accessories.
The steam rack that comes with Ultra is not convenient, so I'm using T-Fal Cook4me steaming basket, that perfectly fits and does a great job.
Also, T-Fal Cook4me has an original ceramic coated non-stick pot, and its quality is superb, real-deal non-stick cookware, amazingly easy to clean, durable and proved itself over time.
When I purchased Instant Pot Ultra, I wanted to get a similar ceramic-coated pot for IP as well, so I bought it, but was disappointed right out of the box for its cheap quality is so evident. The ceramic-coated pot's internal surface is somewhat grainy and had a couple of tiny sharp bumps.
I have returned the product, for it doesn't meet the standards of ceramic-coated cookware according to my experience.
