The Standard is a very nice hotel with very attentive staff in a nice convenient part of London, essentially across the street from St Pancras Station! The hotel and the rooms themselves have a very modern/retro vibe. Nice lobby area with very comfortable seating and a fireplace!

Staff are rude. Especially at the restaurant. It is a rooftop restaurant that caters to locals. Staff are more interested in drinking with their friends than working or acting in a service capacity. Hotel is close to king’s cross which is convenient. But dine elsewhere.
