Great for car or SUV camping!

Great for car or SUV camping!
At first, I purchased one of those $40+ rechargeable battery showers. I found I didn’t want to be worried with using my Jackery to recharge it, so I found this one as a simpler option. The only thing that is an issue is finding a bottle that will hold on to the threads and or fit the threads of the shower head. I don’t drink sodas so empty 2 liter soda bottles weren’t available at my home. However, I found an even better option, Dr. Bonner’s 32 oz soap bottle. The plastic is so durable on this bottle that I could put in really hot tap (it was actually burning hot) and add in cold water for a nice warm spray. I did need to cut the black hard plastic hose to fit in the bottle. I actually prefer the shower head without the hose because it slows the water flow.

Pros Upgraded to five stars after experimenting some more. For the price, very portable and good water flow. I like it for measuring and limiting water use. I use to rinse my hair anywhere there is a place to catch the water, like a kitchen sink, a tub, or outside. When combined with wetting my hair with spray bottle with half hot and half tepid water, shampooing, then using the simple shower to rinse my hair with cold water, this method does a better job cleaning and is healthier for my hair. I have used it on a 1 and 2 liter bottle. 1 liter is easier to hold.
Cons: It is awkward to hold with one hand over my head to avoid spraying water. To be fair, so is a sink sprayer. The 1 liter bottle works best. I hold sideways until in position to rinse over tub or sink or outside. The sideways position controls the water best for me. I did some trials with 1 liter bottle both with and without the straw after reading a review from someone who said that without the straw the water won't flow until the bottle is squeezed. That person is correct. They posted pictures of it too. (Thanks to them!) The water flows a bit until it seals the hole where the straw goes in the lid, and then it wont flow until the bottle is squeezed and has a good flow. Also, I tried putting my finger over the straw hole with the straw in the lid, and that also blocks the water like a valve would.
Suggestion for manufacturer, if there would be a way to put the straw hole on the side of the lid instead of on the top center, or even on the side of the top where a finger could easily block and adjust water flow, or flow could be adjusted by turning a switch on the lid to block the straw hole or by twisting the lid to control flow, much like you would on a shower head, that would be a nice feature.
Overall: Love the portability. Happy with the purchase and invention of it.

This is an amazing invention!! Simple, yet so functional!

We used to bathe our baby girl in our large kitchen sink and rinsed her off with the sprayer, which was great and she tolerated it. But when she got old enough to start to grab the faucet, we moved her to a baby tub within the bathtub. We tried to rinse her with cups, bowls, water bottles, or hold her under the shower, but everything seemed to be too much. It either startled her or was just too much water in one area at a time.

I had considered using a watering can that is used in the garden but figured it would be too bulky to rinse off a one year old in the tub. I had considered revising the watering can but then looked online to see what I could find. I found a few things that would either attach to the bath tub faucet with a hose and sprayer (our faucet's mouth is square), or attach to the shower head with a hose and sprayer (which would have involved some simple plumbing). But with an old house we didn't want to mess with that.

I found a few things that were made for pet grooming which involved an electric pump from a bucket of water (which I believe would be for outside use). Then I finally found this ingenious invention.

I read tons of reviews but could find not one which related to bathing a child! Well, this is the review...

This is the BEST thing to use on a baby in a bath-tub!! She just turned one and we've been using this Simple Shower for about a month now. She loves it!! We fill a sturdy 1 Liter Dasani water bottle, use the shorter straw which came with the shower, the bottle and shower connect perfectly tight, and when she's ready to rinse off we just flip it over and the water-flow is perfect and doesn't startle her with a rush of water.

I was surprised not to find any other reviews regarding baby bath-time. I think the Simple Shower should be advertised as such and include babies!

This has been the perfect baby shower!! We live near the beach, so this will be perfect for cleaning off sand before getting into the car as well as grass and dirt after playing in the yard barefoot. I believe that until she is old enough for an independent shower, we'll be using the Simple Shower for years to come (maybe adding a few bottles to rinse off her growing body!!)

We have absolutely no complaints and hope that the company starts marketing the product for use on babies.

It works as advertised and it's quite simple. I find that I can get reasonably clean with two liters of water (ladies will need more). The design and functionality is as advertised. I do, however, find that I don't carry this as much as my 2.5 liter bag solar shower because of the need for a 2-liter bottle. It's bulky, you can't squish it or pack things into it, so it's really wasted space. That said, for car camping, this thing works fine or for a backup... a quick wash up after swimming in the lake or at the beach. Still, I don't love it for camping. I don't find it all that useful for other applications. It's a good product and I will keep it, but there are showers that are better for my applications,

    Pros
    - Uses 2-liter (widely available) bottles.
    - Pours a strong and robust stream of water. Pour gently or you'll lose too much water.
    - Reasonably priced.
    - No worries about it running when you aren't controlling it... you want it to stop pouring, rotate your hand.

    Cons
    - There are better camp showers out there.
    - 2 liters is pretty low output and I can't find larger bottles that have the same threads.
    - Because of the need for a bottle, this thing looks svelte, but is actually bulky when paired with a bottle.
    - Has three parts... all three are necessary. Be careful about storing it. Parts can be lost. Easily.
