Hard Truckers

Sales Brochure. San Rafael: [ca. 1974]

Pamphlet (8 x 11”). 8 pp., photo-illustrated, 2-page spread diagram of the Wall of Sound. Original blue illustrated wraps with Steal Your Face logo on rear.

The “on the road” experience Hard Truckers gained by designing and building the Grateful Dead’s Wall of Sound was put to good use in their company’s production of hand-built, acoustically superior speakers for car stereo, home stereo and of course, live gigs. The birch cabinets were built to withstand stage drops, cross-country tours and still produce the superior and innovative sound that Dead gigs were famous for.

These were labor-intensive boutique builds, bringing studio monitor quality to the stage (hand tie-dyed speaker covers by Courtenay Pollock were also available).

The present brochure is rare.
