If, like us, you have been taking style cues from Olivia Rodrigo and also happen to love shoes, this is the post for you.
On Saturday, May 15, Olivia had on a pair of black and white brogues for her SNL performance of “drivers license," styled with a layered, two-tone pink summer dress and fishnet stockings. Equal parts classic and edgy, the shoes were definitely the focal point of the 'fit. You might have already recognized them by their iconic yellow stitching but if you've been wanting to replicate it you needn't look further: The shoes in question are the 3989 Bex smooth leather brogues from Dr. Martens.
It’s also pretty clear that these babies are in her current rotation: She also wore them for a live performance of “deja vu” with VEVO Lift that was uploaded to YouTube last week. There, they were styled with a teal sheer, lacy top, and a matching knitted cardigan vest, and straight jeans. (A versatile pair of shoes? Sign us up!)
It looks like Olivia might be a Docs fan in general (first of all, taste!) because she tends to be styled in them quite a bit. She wore the classic pair from the brand for a second performance on SNL of her new song, “good 4 u,” and was also seen in the ever-so-popular Jadons coming back to the U.S. from the BRITs. She has even had them on in multiple colors as Nini in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series!
Clearly, Olivia knows a thing or two about timeless shoes: her Instagram is also filled with pictures of her in Converse and lace-up Vans. Between those two and the Docs, she’s got the holy trinity of classic, yet reasonably-priced footwear covered. (P.S.: If you’ve got Docs and you’re trying to break them in, we got you.)
