Along with the exquisite recipes, it opens one's understanding of the life of an immigrant who left their homeland to seek freedom and safety, but who found themselves in "cultural limbo" once in America. An immigrant who wanted to fit in with the culture around them, but at the same time hold fast to the culture and food traditions ingrained in them, essentially running through their blood. This book is a combination of both traditional Persian dishes, and American fare with a Persian twist. This book will warm your heart, and whet your appetite!

Love that she shares her story, her Zoroastrian ancestors history, and connects that all with the delectable food of Iran. Whether you like yogurt or not, I highly recommend this book!
