Exactly What I Needed
This knife is the perfect size and is super sharp. I did just open it and have only used it once to chop potatoes, but for now, I am elated. This knife has its own sharpener so I didn’t have to purchase an extra sharpener on top of the knife. I like that the handle is comfortable in my hand. The knife is not heavy, but seems to be durable. The price was great for the product. So far, it seems to be sturdy. I think if you hand wash this and make sure it is dry, you won’t have to worry about it rusting. I will keep using this and update my review if I find any cons to describe. For now, I am very happy with this purchase.

I previously purchased an 8” which is too large for cutting veggies, but it will be great for cutting up meat.

    Replacing the one I bought at a store 8 years ago. Blade is a little thicker and shaped a little different but works mostly the same. My go to knife for chopping/cutting everything from cheese, lettuce, garlic and in a pinch can sorta slice tomatoes. My old one was Farberware so I figured another one should last another 8 years, but this one comes with the sheath that has a sharpener, rarely ever had to sharpen the old one but it is nice to have a sheath.

    If you haven't been using a sharp knife be cautious with this because it is exceptionally sharp. It makes short work of vegetables and finger tips.
    I experimented using the sharpening sleeve on my older farberware steak knives. A couple of passes smoothed the blades and put a nice edge on them.
