Hey Osprey it doesn’t fit me…
Osprey boasts that they can fit everyone. Well not here. I started with the Talon Pro 30 but my shoulders are too wide. Then I bought this one after talking to a rep at Osprey. It fit my shoulders better but the straps were slightly small. Osprey then gave me a 20% off promo to try their extended fit. THE SHOULDER HARNESS ON THE TALON 22 EXTENDED FIT WILL EASILY COME OFF AND FITS NEARLY EVERY TALON PACK. Unfortunately Osprey says they are not compatible. They are! I couldn’t justify another $100+ for just the shoulder harness and the waist belt was too big for me now so that one was returned. This easily could work at a lightweight overnight or weekend pack. I’ve had sleeping gear and two days worth packed into it. Osprey refuses to sell me just the shoulder harness. So I decided to void my warranty and made the yoke larger in my harness. Now I on the trail and don’t have the pain or discomfort across my shoulders and neck. Should Osprey offer me the harness sure I’ll take it. Hell they should offer me a job too. I’m just as skilled as their sewing crew.

Perfect for an 8+hr day hike if you also get the 3.0L water bladder. This pack will hold all you could need for a day & your camera gear as well.

I’m totally sold on Osprey, but this model came up short for my particular needs and I returned it and bought an Osprey Stratos 36. The Talon 36 waist band was too narrow and didn’t seem sturdy enough and wasn’t comfortable enough for loads over 15 lbs. The AirSCAPE air-management system was also less effective than I was hoping. The AirSPEED system on the Stratos 36 is far superior. Also be doubly sure that no onboard rain cover is ok for you as the Talon 36 is not so equipped (The Stratos 36 is). For super light fair-weather day hikes the Talon would be adequate. If you’re going for lodge to lodge treks or overnighters you’ll appreciate the benefits the Stratos 36 offers over the Talon. That said, the Talon is less expensive and about one pound lighter by my measure. This review isn’t intended to be critical of the product, but rather a nudge to dig deeper as I should have to make sure the first buy is the right buy.

The media could not be loaded.
Osprey is the acknowledged leader in backpack design and manufacture. There are other good backpack makers, some old, some new. Deuter and Gregory make some great packs. Granite Gear has packs in unique sizes and configurations. REI makes good packs as do Kelty, North Face and a host of others. But for consistently excellent design and durable quality, no one beats Osprey.

This pack is right in Osprey's wheelhouse: a medium-sized, multi-day, techinical pack for short trips, this pack is durable, adjustable and feature-packed.

OK. A few points about this pack worth noting.

      1) Light. This is a light pack--not ultralight, but still just 2.6 pounds.
      2) Main top-of-pack opening zips in the rear and is hinged or attached at the front.
      3) Osprey's Airscape ventilation system with channels for foam in the back provides good back ventilation.
      4) Osprey's torso adjustment allows pack to be fit to varying torso lengths.
      5) Miscellaneous: top slash zippered pocket, ice axe loop, Stow-n-Go trekking pole attachment points, external hydration sleeve in back, dual zippered pockets on hip belt.

I've owned multiple Ospreys over many years, from backpack bags to biking packs to travel and technical bags. They wear like iron. My wife has a 40 liter women's pack that she has taken on multiple week-long wilderness trips in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, as well as a number of month-long trips overseas. It looks nearly as new today as it did when she first got it seven or eight years ago.

You won't be disappointed with this pack. It's as good as they get for the size and purpose its made for.

Until recently, I considered myself a Thule Girl.  I swore by Thule for outdoor/adventure products.  While my opinion of Thule hasn't changed, I now love Osprey too!   I now have about ten different different Osprey bags/backpacks, and I have been pleasantly surprised by the design, construction, and quality of each one.  Similar to Thule, you know you are going to pay a premium when you purchase the Osprey brand, but the quality you receive is worth every penny.

This small backpack is perfect for short hikes, overnights, or even a weekend trip for a light packer.  It is lightweight, comfortable, and offers excellent ventilation. The fit can be adjusted for both smaller and larger frames, as well as varying heights.

This pack can be opened up to accommodate a few days worth of supplies. However, if you don't need all of the space that it offers, it has compression straps which will significantly reduce the size of the pack. There is a dedicated pocket for water bladder storage. There are mesh side compartments for water bottles, and a large zippered mesh compartment in the front. Straps are available for attaching a shovel, axe, or walking sticks.

Osprey really thought of just about everything when they made this product.  Overall, you can put your trust in this Osprey backpack to offer a quality product at a competitive price.

Comfortable pack without a lot of wasted space or things wasted on weight. 36L is about the right size for a small overnight pack, or for a daypack -- especially if you are bringing lunch or carrying stuff for kids/animals/etc.

Comfortable and easy to adjust to fit.

Zipper on outside pocket zipped closed with wallet and phone inside on 1st use. Could Not unzip even with plyers. Had to cut pocket open. Will try another Osprey however.

      軽く、背中の部分に空気が通る工夫があり、特に夏には良い。トレッキングポールを一時的に留めておけるアタッチメントがあるのが特徴。レインカバーが付属してなかったのがマイナスポイント。
