Description

Kokomea PurePod sits proudly on a grapevine nursery high above the Kāpiti Coast just an hour north of Wellington.

Nestled beside olive trees and overlooking the ocean to Kāpiti Island. Kokomea PurePod creates a desirable setting for you to relax in privacy, tranquility and enjoy spectacular sunsets.

Wake in the morning to the sunshine twinkling on the sea – and the beautiful chorus of birdsong.

Your journey to the Kokomea PurePod starts with a scenic drive up the Kāpiti Coast. The Kāpiti Coast’s natural beauty is breathtaking – and there is so much to see, do and experience!

Native bush walk to your PurePod

The walk up to the PurePod guides you through ‘The Gully’. The Gully is an integral part of this farm, as it features a beautiful spring-fed, clear stream.

As you walk through The Gully keep an eye out for the native rātā, kōwhai and pōhutukawa trees.

In the evening Kererū, North Island tomtit, kaka, tui, and fantail birds fly off Kāpiti Island over The Gully to the hills behind your PurePod.

The Gully is now in the process of being fenced off, de-stocked, and returned to native bush. This work is key to fostering the biodiversity in native flora and fauna and enabling you to enjoy this beautiful space.

Kokomea PurePods Secluded Setting

Privacy is assured at the Kokomea PurePod. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be surrounded by birdsong and captivating natural scenery that make total relaxation a compelling prospect!

With no one nearby, you can sit back, relax and soak in the views and spectacular sunsets.

Things to do

Guided Culture Walk

Explore the surrounding environment with an interactive discussion (kōrero) on the variety of native plants, their medicinal properties and cultural importance through the eyes of local natural fibre artist Birgit Moffatt.

Learn about native birds and enjoy a Kawa Kawa tea ceremony by the river. And as weather and time permit, a flax (harakeke) waving demonstration too. The cost is $180 per couple, just select this at time of booking your stay.

If you are able to tear yourself away from the luxurious comforts of Kokomea PurePod, there’s so much to enjoy on Kāpiti Coast such as exploring the 40km of west coast beaches, to visiting Kāpiti Island, horse riding, cycling, hiking, or trying the local artisan food and beverages produced in the region.

Of course, if such exploration is not quite what you desire, stretch out on the deck, enjoy a glass of wine and embrace the complete absence of people and traffic.

You can either bring your own supplies or pre-order a delicious breakfast and dinner food hamper when you make your reservation.
