Am I eligible for the educational discount?
You are eligible for an educational discount if you are either:
- a student who is 18 or over and enrolled in full-time education, up to advanced degree programs.
- a parent or guardian buying on behalf of a student who is under 18.
- a student in a part-time program that consists of 20 or more hours of study per week, or one that runs for 12 months or more. The area of study is irrelevant.
- a teacher who is currently employed full- or part-time at a school or university in any field. Part-time and private teachers must work at least 20 hours per week to qualify.

How to buy:

- Buy Ableton Live at the discounted price either on its own by selecting one of the listed editions or by opting into the educational discount when purchasing Live with Push.
- Verify your education status. You'll be asked to provide details about the institution you attend or are employed by and upload a copy of your student or teacher ID.
- Await confirmation. Verification usually takes one business day to complete. You'll receive an email with the outcome. Once you're verified, your license will be activated and you'll be able to authorize Live immediately.
- Install and authorize Live.

Can educational licenses be upgraded?
Yes, but the education discount is only available when buying a new license and cannot be applied to upgrades.
Does the educational version of Live have the same features as the full version?
An EDU license has all of the same features as a regular version of Live.
Can I buy an educational license for a friend or family member?
Yes, educational licenses can be purchased for a family member or friend, as long as they meet the educational requirements. The purchaser will need to upload the recipient’s details when verifying the license.
It is not possible to use one's own educational documents as verification for another person.
Can I keep my educational license once I finish school?
Yes, the educational status is only relevant at the time of purchase of your EDU license. You can keep using the license without any limitations even after you are no longer enrolled.
