Thoughtfully crafted with the next generation in mind, the Cheekbone Beauty ingredient and packaging standards come from our Indigenous ways of knowing and being known as ‘Biinad Beauty Standards’. To dispose, soak the tube in a glass of warm water overnight, gently separating the outer paper layer and recycling the plastic.

Ashley – a dusty rose, is named after Ashley Callingbull, a very well-known Cree woman from the Enoch Cree Nation. In 2015, Ashley became the first Canadian and the first Indigenous Woman to ever win the Mrs. Universe title. Autumn – a blue-red, is named after the brave and inspiring Anishnaabekwe from Wikwemikong Unceded Territory in Northern Ontario, Autumn Peltier. On the B.Yellowtail website Bethany also has ‘The Collective’ which is a platform for Indigenous artists to sell their handmade goods.

Cindy – a brown nude, is named after the Executive Director of the First Nations Child and Family Caring Society of Canada from the Gitxsan First Nation, Cindy Blackstock. Tantoo – a soft, pink nude, is named after prolific Cree/Métis actor Tantoo Cardinal. Having over 100 film and television credits to her name, Tantoo is an icon of Canadian acting. In 2015, she reached new acclaim after receiving the award of excellence from ACTRA - Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists. In her work, she ensures characters are both accurate and honest portrayals of Indigenous people, working with writers to achieve this balance. Her first leading role in 2018's Falls Around Her was written by Indigenous filmmaker Darlene Naponse and shot on the director’s homeland, the Atikameksheng Anishnawbek First Nation territory near Sudbury, Ontario. Every element of the film was honourably captured to be true and authentic, even the fire which was tended by a fire keeper, a traditional role in Indigenous ceremonies. It is this careful portrayal of Indigenous characters and traditions, in part, that has made Tantoo Cardinal such an integral part of the Indigenous and Canadian film industry.
