Beyoncé Knowles doesn't grace our presence often, even virtually. But when she does, it's a spectacle, and the 2022 Academy Awards were no different. The Grammy-winner showed up looking like country club royalty in a tennis ball-hued dress, a glittery violet smoky eye, and straightened blonde hair for her opening performance.

Queen Bey isn't just your average Oscars performer this year. She and her backup dancers blessed the audience with "Be Alive," which was nominated for Best Song this year. The track, which was made for the also-nominated biopic King Richard, which tells the story of Richard Williams, father to the two most famous tennis players of the planet, Serena and Venus Williams. (Allure actually went behind the scenes for some on-set hair secrets from the movie.) But because we're Beyonce people as much as we are movie people, we may have been more excited to catch Bey and her beauty looks on screen for just a few minutes.

In a fuzzy neon green dress, sparkly shadow, and long, flowing blonde strands, Beyoncé led her backup squad in yet another stunning dance number. Her purple makeup contrasted her green get-up flawlessly, and her statement earrings are — you guessed it — shaped like tennis balls. Can we also get the number of whoever plucks her brows? We've never seen arches so sharp.

If the 2022 Oscars are starting this strong, we can't wait for what comes next.
