No, there is not. It only sits loosely atop a 5 gallon bucket. I would suggest if possible using this like a composting toilet if smell is a concern and you have a spot you can dedicate for a compost bin. You could use 1&quot; of fine sawdust to start and then sprinkle sawdust after each use to light cover everything... you will smell nothing but pine (do not use cedar as it does not compost as quickly). Hope this helps.

There is no rubber seal, but has a lip that fits snugly enough to keep the odors down to were they are not noticeable.
This is our second one (8years), Last for years, I recommend the Reliance Luggable Loo seat cover.

You can use the (GREEN) Bio Digest packets or Lysol toilet bowl cleaner (Just a squirt after use) to keep odors at bay.                                       And this liquefies solids making dumping and rinsing less of a chore.    
I have used the Reliance Luggable Loo Seat Cover in the past for around two months with out anyone knowing it was there.

I do not own a lug a loo, but I was in desparate need of a replacement seat for my hassack style portable potty. I took a chance that this seat would fit and to my joy it does. The only issue is that because of the attached lid I cannot put the hassack cover on because the lid has protruding parts.

Works For Hassock Style Too!

Unless you really enjoy the idea of cat-boxing your duty out in Mother Nature when potties are not provided for you, then I helpfully recommend your own personal travel loo! This can be a real life saver for longer, multi-day outdoor adventures. It certainly made me a real happy camper.

This lid snapped right onto a regular ol' bucket I picked up for a couple dollars in the hardware depatment. After you line the inside of your bucket with disposable camping potty liners and snap on this Luggable Loo seat cover, you're ready for business. 

This is one of the best, economic options beyond hole-digging or finding a public porta potty sanitary enough to use.

Multi-day camping essential!

I would have given the Luggable Loo Seat and Cover 5 stars just from our experience using it camping, but the pandemic has really made it a valuable asset to have when traveling, getting out at parks, or simply going for a drive.  The LLSC let's us avoid public restrooms altogether.  If not parked in a secluded spot, I put Reflectix covers over the inside of the windows and have complete privacy in a crowd!  My daughter and I were able to attend our county's Trump Rally and Convoy, while staying completely isolated from everyone there by using the LLCS in our Subaru Outback.  For camping, I have used it with a standard 5-gallon bucket and doubled kitchen garbage bags, but for in the car use I use the LLCS with a 3.5-gallon bucket from Walmart that I found in their Paint Dept (linked below) with doubled bathroom garbage bags, and either pine shavings or scoopable cat litter.

Reliance Luggable Loo seat cover

Bought this as a replacement for the original one that came with the pail. The first one cracked within a month. This one is identical but so far no crack. The only thing I don't like about the product, is the lid. It only opens 90`, and when you sit down, it hits you in the back.

Nice seat with lid that fits US-made 5 gallon buckets easily.  The only drawback is that it doesn't fit a Canadian-made 5-gallon bucket.  :(  (Canadian pails are 1/8" larger in diameter, so the seat won't "seat" properly)  We were lucky to have an old detergent pail that this seat fit very nicely.  
I purchased this for emergency purposes.  I keep all the toilet supplies in it (liners, TP, etc.) and use the seat as the seal, and we stow it with all our other emergency supplies.  Good for peace of mind.

Does not fit 5 gallon plastic bucket that I bought.  Supposed to fit perfectly on top of bucket.  Would not fit at all.  Poor quality...because it says that it will fit 5 gallon buckets and it doesn't fit at all...
