Artist bios

The solo moniker of Los Angeles singer/songwriter Noah Weinman, Runnner is known for his earnest, atmospherically enveloping brand of indie rock. He debuted in 2017 with Awash before signing to Run for Cover and gaining wider attention with 2022's Always Repeating and 2023's Like Dying Stars, We're Reaching Out.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Weinman initially took piano lessons and played trumpet growing up. His father taught him to play the guitar and introduced him to bands like Death Cab for Cutie and Fountains of Wayne. After high school, he studied political science at Kenyon College, all the while harboring a desire to pursue music. After graduating in 2016, he moved back to Los Angeles where he joined a band and toured. However, he grew increasingly dissatisfied with the project and began recording songs on his own. By 2017, the band had broken up and Weinman (now working as Runnner) self-released his debut album, Awash, online. He moved again, this time to Rhode Island, before coming back to Los Angeles where he found a home in the local indie singer/songwriter scene and released several EPs. His albums eventually caught the attention of Boston-based Run for Cover label, which signed him. In 2022, he made his debut with Always Repeating. A third album, Like Dying Stars, We're Reaching Out, arrived in 2023. ~ Matt Collar
