Could be stronger. VictorOverall good bed but for this price it could be made stronger. Also tall people can only sleep on the extended part of the bed. 4
Beautiful and spaciousFirasOpens into a king-sized bed. Assembly took about three hours for the both of us but the product is totally worth it. I only wish I could get it in black.5

Disappointed BobbiAs a day bed only, it's great Drawers are great We bought this a few months ago. My granddaughter decided she wanted the double bed. We got a 2nd twin mattress but the 2 mattresses don't fit. We need about 2/3 more inches If you force them in, the bottom (where drawers are) comes out of top bed. Then top bed has no support and you see the affect instantly Now we have an extra mattress and a disappointed 10 year old3
BedMichelleLove how it turns into a double5
Great service and product MelanieThis was my first purchase online to be picked up in the store and it went smoothly. The product was easy to put together and I find it very comfortable I highly recommend it5
Very NiceSeikaI purchased this as an alternative to a regular double bed in our guest bedroom. I put it together myself and it was fairly easy. It was missing one of the small nylon pegs for one of the slats but I improved and used one of the extra screws. The one thing I would mention is that you do need additional tools to put this together. It has one allen key in the package. I also used a battery powered drill with a small Phillips screwdriver head to spread up the process but a smaller Phillips screwdriver and a slot screwdriver are needed. It doesn't mention that in the instructions. Ikea quality has definitely improved over the years. I have been purchasing furniture pieces for well over 25 yrs and they have gotten progressively better. I would also say this piece is not a beginner assembly. If you haven't put together a piece from Ikea before you may want some help with this.5

Very very bad structured, bothParvinVery very bad structured, both section of bed relay on each other. it's useless without other part. DON'T recommend, waste of money.1
I love it but itJaniceI love it but it took me few hours to assemble myself.5
Don’t buy thisAminaI don’t understand why it is so expensive while it is not made from real wood. It is broken easily and I strayed to glue and add screws to fix it pleas look at the market Facebook and see the conditions of this used bed of this kind. It’s function and design should only work with the real wood material not a compact one. Throwing the money in the garbage.1
Perfect for a guest bedroom or everyday use.DoreenLove the option of using it as a single or king bed!5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA we believe that sourced in a responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is fibreboard?

Fibreboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fibreboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are. This determines if we will use them for bed frames, sofa frames, kitchen fronts, wardrobe doors, or something completely different.

Function solution

Sofa and bed in one

Living in a small space or need an extra bed sometimes? Then a daybed is a smart solution since you get two types of furniture in one - a sofa by day and bed by night. And since some of our daybeds also have drawers, you get a practical place to store anything from bed linens to clothes and toys.

Designer thoughts

Designer thoughts

"Function and flexibility are high on the agenda where space is at a premium. That's why I designed HEMNES daybed to fulfill four functions. A single bed, bed for two, sofa and storage drawers solve four of the key needs in every home. The simple lines and white finish make sure it's at home in almost any setting. I've heard people say this is an all-round item of furniture - with room for all the family in the bed for two and the cat in the pull-out drawer! That makes a designer like me feel that I've achieved my aim."
