- Reviewed in the United States on April 30, 2013This is a beautifully crafted book.
Which has many, but not all of Marilyn's own belongings, which went up for sale in 1999.
This book is considered a catalogue.
Well it's the biggest catalogue I've ever seen.
That has items that once belonged to the worlds most famous movie star in the 20th century.
As you turn the pages you begin to wonder if Marilyn would've approved of all this.
I think not.
Then you find just how many sides there were of Marilyn.
The star, the housewife, the causal dresser.etc.
And believe me Marilyn had her own style of fashion.
Such good taste.
If anything Norma jean was a master at creating Marilyn Monroe time and time again.
This book has about 415 pages.
And worth buying and adding to your collection of Marilyn Monroe books.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 23, 2018This book is really cool for any Marilyn fan to see what she owned. I was very surprised she didn't own any real diamonds. All her jewelry was rhinestones and nice costume jewelry. How sad. She deserved real diamonds and nice things. Interesting book to see what was auctioned off and what people paid for her items.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2016I had been looking at this book for a while, and finally decided to purchase it. It is a must have for the Marilyn fan. You get an idea of Marilyn that's not from her movies, but from her real life, the clothes she wore, her furniture, and decor. I have a B.A. in Anthropology and when you look at archaeology, you put together a story about a person through the tangible items they left behind. This book allows the reader to piece together an idea of a person through her belongings. This was the Auction Catalog for her personal property sold at Christie's. I really enjoy the quality of the book. I bought a used copy, but the dustcover is in great condition, and the only markings were an inscription on the first page, which doesn't bother be because these were published once for the auction and hard to come by. If you enjoy Marilyn Monroe and are intrigued by her life, you will really enjoy this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 4, 2022Arrived on time. Well packed. The personal Property Of Marilyn Monroe: Auction Catalog, is a hardback large book, in good condition. The book contains color photographs of personal items owned by the Actress. Fascinating to see up close, Jewelry, Pucci shirt’s and Slacks, Coats, Shoes, Skirts, Jackets, Gloves, Makeup Case with Vintage makeup items within the case. Many Books, Furniture, Lamps, Glassware. Items bought for her house, from a trip to Mexico. Many other items also are shown. This was a auction that took place in the 1990’s lists description of items that sold and the estimate price for bidding. Thanks!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 26, 2021It was very interesting to be able to see the things Marilyn owed and cherished. The actual auction is over, so you can’t purchase any of items shown. I do know that Mariah Carey bought the small white piano that Marilyn treasured.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 20, 2021Exceptional quality and experience. Product arrived in excellent condition exactly as described and arrived earlier than expected.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 7, 2020This book is a necessity for any Marilyn fan. The condition was as described; and it arrived exactly when it was promised.

5.0 out of 5 stars marilyn monroe intime
Très beau catalogue des objets, robes etc ayant appartenu à marilyn. Une approche différente de la femme qu'elle était par ses goûts personnels.
