Paragliding in Holiday Region Interlaken

Admire the lakes and mountains of the Bernese Oberland from the air

How about a paragliding flight in Holiday Region Interlaken? Enjoy the view of typical Swiss villages, deep-blue lakes and majestic mountain peaks while your paraglider carries you in the wind. A tandem flight amid the Swiss Alps is an unforgettable experience.

Paragliding for every season

In spring, paraglide over the budding, verdant forests and colourful flower meadows. In autumn, fly over colourful deciduous trees and enjoy the views of the snow-covered mountain peaks. Winter flights are particularly beautiful: trudge through the snow and take off. The blue lakes contrast wonderfully with the snow-covered fir trees and Alps. Truly heart-warming, despite the chilly winter temperatures.

Paragliding high above Interlaken

Interlaken is world-famous as an ideal area for paragliding. On an almost daily basis, guests from every corner of the world land on the Höhematte, with its views of the Jungfrau massif. Get your paragliding adventure underway by taking a bus from Interlaken to the starting point at Beatenberg Amisbühl, which is 1350 m above sea level. Your professional tandem pilot will give you some initial instructions during the 20-minute bus ride. You will feel a rush of anticipation as the paraglider is unpacked and checked. Your tandem pilot will secure you to the paraglider which, only a few minutes later, will rise up behind you. You’ll run a few steps on the meadow together and suddenly you’ll feel the paraglider lift you up into the air.

Fly from Beatenberg at 1350 m above sea level back to Interlaken

Up in the air, enjoy the views of Lake Thun’s deep-blue waters, the Harder observation point and the Three Peaks – the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. You will descent around 800 m in altitude during your 10 to 20 minute paragliding flight, before landing in Höhematte Park in the centre of Interlaken. The thermals for flying are particularly good around midday. Purchase the photos and videos of your tandem flight – the perfect souvenir of your adventure.

Tandem flights in the Bernese Oberland

Would you like to fly from the pyramid-shaped Niesen over Lake Thun, or would you prefer a flight from the Stockhorn across picturesque mountain lakes and alpine landscapes? You can paraglide in a multitude of less touristed areas in the Bernese Oberland. On request, you can also take off with an experienced tandem pilot at Schynige Platte, Niederhorn, Axalp or on the Turnen mountain in the Diemtigtal Nature Park.

Learn to paraglide

Would you like to fly a paraglider yourself? Make your dream come true and train to become a paragliding pilot at a school in the Bernese Oberland. It is best to do a taster day first and then complete the five-day basic course. You need to have at least 50 high-altitude flights from five different flying regions under your belt to obtain a pilot’s licence. In addition to the theory, the flying school will teach you a lot of practical knowledge to give you the necessary skills to paraglide safely.
