It's a little heavy, but it's nice that it folds for easy carrying and storage.
It climbs hills and the suspension is smooth on roads. The built-in headlight is plenty bright, as is the taillight. Brakes work well, but I rarely need to use them because the regenerative braking (when you release the throttle) typically slows me well enough.
Ultimately a great ride for the casual user!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 25, 2024I've never owned an electric scooter before. We were looking at some for our 9 year old daughter when I thought it might be fun to have my wife and I join her and make it a family thing.
I bought my daughter a different brand and when looking for ours I was nervous tbh. I already soooo many reviews on a bunch of different scooters. I found myself on Reddit asking for advice when I noticed a trend ... Most everyone was saying this was the best scooter for the cost.
I was hesitant to pull the trigger but decided while on sale let's give it a shot. I ordered two one for myself and one for my wife.
They say in my closet for about a month and the entire time I kept coming back reading reviews wondering if I would have charging issues or battery issues etc.
On Xmas eve we popped them open and to my relief they charged just fine (quicker then I thought they would) the app wasn't hard to use and when it was time to go out and use them....oh man what a blast.
These were definitely worth the purchase. They are durable, the suspension was great, it picked up speed quick and maintained it well. Our neighbor also has a few inclines that I was a bit concerned about, but was able to hit almost top speed up the hill.
For reference I'm 5'9 170 ibs and my wife is 5'3 120.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 31, 2023I initially purchased this scooter due to its great reviews both here and elsewhere. When I first bought the scooter, it worked amazing and I was very happy with the purchase. Then within two months of purchase the motor began to overheat to the point it melted the tire and rubber parts of the scooter. I contacted Niu and they were very helpful and I was able to ship it to their repair facility free of charge, I just had to purchase the box to ship it in. This is where the issues truly appeared. About a week after it had been sent, I emailed them asking for an update being that I had heard nothing from them only knowing it had arrived from a FedEx tracking number, the response told me it had been repaired and to ‘please be patient.’ When the scooter did arrive it was shipped back to me in the same box that I had sent it in and paid for, I know this because it still had the original packing label on it. The box was damaged with a part of the handle sticking out that destroyed the rubber section of the handle. There were also a large number of scratches that were not there prior to shipping and two sections of reflectors were just gone. The worst part was when I plugged the scooter in to charge it would not charge. It would begin to but would suddenly shut off and not continue to charge. I emailed about this and was given a very generic answer about how they would repair the scooter again. Not trusting this I placed a phone call to them and described the situation and stated I would either like my money back or a new replacement scoter. I was informed a supervisor would be getting in contact with me. That is 6 days ago now, no response. I received another email giving me the details of how to have it repaired, I told them this is not acceptable based on what occurred last time. I am waiting on a response to that email as well.
I am now updating this review as it is even worse. I received a new scooter from them and it broke within 2 weeks of getting. The customer service is impossible to deal with. They have lied multiple times via phone and email and they are not consistent. The only sure way to get the company to reach out to you is to write a review on amazon. I can not state more strongly DO NOT buy.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2025This was bought as a gift, but I have an electric longboard and my son wanted something similar. He thought a scooter would be a safer choice and after a ton of research, this is where I landed. I have ridden it a few miles and I'm truly impressed.
This has a great battery life, a smooth ride and handles really well.
No complaints from he or him after months of riding.
I'm 6' and 225 and I handles my size just fine and my son is 6'5" and a little lighter and he gets a ton of speed and range. He uses it as a commuter and it works great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Monopattino Niu KQi3 Pro un prodotto assolutamente eccezionale

5.0 out of 5 stars Most fun way to ride
The media could not be loaded.
I live a busy & active life with full days, often needing to be multiple places in a short span of time - but I am also someone who lives with chronic pain who doesn't drive.
Because of this, getting around especially when I'm in flare can be a strain needing to walk or bike everywhere, so I began researching the many electric scooter options out there wanting to get something that would improve upon my independence regardless of what my pain levels were.
There are a lot of decent options out there if you're just looking for a little recreational ride - but I knew I wanted something sturdy, that I could rely on for longer rides and multiple times daily use without having to charge every day, which eliminated a lot of the other scooters I came across. Enter the NIU KQi3 Pro.
With its larger deck, 32 km/h max speed, and ability to go up to 50 km on a single charge, it is very stable and efficient in getting me everywhere I need to go.
Zipping around on the scooter is a blast, and because of this, it makes me want to go more places, which has delightfully opened my world back up. And with it's bright led light, and rear brake lights, it even feels good traveling at night.
It's no small joy riding along the waterfront in this delightful summer weather - passing lines of traffic that would have otherwise had me stuck.
With the distance, I am able to reach the furthest corners of the city and return on a single charge, and often check in to multiple spots in a day with battery still left.
I haven't yet figured out a reliable way I trust to lock it up, so I usually bring it into stores etc. with me. With its weight sitting just below 43 lbs, some days that is easier than others - depending usually if I'm in flare - but even so it's never an immovable amount for me to carry, and it folds with ease to put into carts (if you're feeling ambitious and don't mind people giving you funny looks, which I don't) or vehicles to transport when need be.
Even going up big hills this beaut handles surprisingly well. There is a noticeable drop in speed (which is to be expected) but if you approach a hill already moving you'll be fine.
Everywhere I go with this I have people complimenting me on it, asking me about the brand and where I got it from, and I know many have taken to watching the sales on this for when they too can get their own as well.
The only possible drawbacks I have noted from my own experience are these:
1. The size of the main body - great for stability, however there doesn't appear to be a lot of accessories made to fit this size currently, so planning out my accessories will take a little bit more work. I have been able to add a cell phone mount and mirror with the use of a handlebar extender, however no water bottle holder has been made to adapt for either the main body or handlebar extension so far, and third party storage bags that attach to the main body otherwise have mixed reviews. This is not a deal breaker as I typically travel with a backpack anyways, just a little disappointing for days I want to travel especially light.
2. Not having very secure options for locking it up. I've looked online at a few ways to work around this with electric scooters, but many of them rely on a small triangle cutout on the design of the frame which the KQi3 Pro just does not have. This does have an alarm/locking function, but I don't see that being as much of a deterrent as someone could just carry it off or throw it into the back of a vehicle anyways as it continued to beep. There are still things that can be done, but where I live, I don't know if that would be seen as a challenge for someone rather than a real barrier, so for now I am sticking to bringing it in with me wherever I go.
3. Occasionally the tension in my left break won't catch, although this only appears to happen at the beginning of my ride, and it does so inconsistently. Reading the manual it talks about ways to adjust the disk brake and I do intend on trying that, just a minor thing that occurs sometimes within the first block of travel - but also only when I'm first leaving my home?
Other than these things, the scooter has honestly been amazing. It's given me time and joy back in traveling around my city, and I feel excited to do things that would have otherwise been a chore before, especially on higher pain days. Beyond even the things needed, I try to make a point of doing a recreational ride once a day also, even if I have only a few minutes, and with its speed, that sees me able to go far.
Considering the price points on many of the other scooters which are not far off, and the higher capabilities of this one, I think the NIU KQi3 Pro is a great buy - especially if you can get it on sale!
In every way I highly recommend.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible app, terrible range readings.
The app is downright useless right up until the point of trying to make an account, I had to switch from 3 networks and attempt for 15 minutes to make an account, you need an account to fully unlock the scooter (it is limited to 9MPH out of the box, you must do a safety tutorial to get the full 15MPH.)
I got in, did the safety tutorial and off I go! Watched a few reviews here and there, oh.. it has cruise control, hold the throttle down fully for 15 seconds then you should hear a beep, never get a beep even at max throttle for a good minute and a half.
The app is also just downright crap and don’t rely on it for how much range you have, when I left the house to go to my mothers’ house to drop something off and come back (roughly 2 miles / 3.2KM ) it said I had 8KM range… I’d say 1.2 miles in, the bloody thing starts to slow down from 15 to 12.. okay, this seems a bit weird. But i keep on going, few hundred metres later I’m having to keep using my leg and kicking along to keep the speed above 8! Check the app again it says I have 0KM range.. so that was annoying, half the journey I had to use it as a normal scooter with my leg.. another issue i face is that the app can be temperamental whilst you try to connect to the scooter and seems to be inconsistent.
If you plan on riding in rural areas where the road and or path is absolutely buggered, just don’t bother, there’s no suspension and you’re scared you’ll break your shiny new Scooter, not to mention you’re always looking over your shoulder due to it not being legal for on public property use.
Had it for 5-6 days and the back breaks seem to be rubbing against the wheel which makes a nasty consistent high pitched noise, every half second or so.. isn’t pleasant, I assume off the god awful rural abandoned by local county council roads i have to deal with.
Range is not 31 Miles (50KM) I’d say at the most, possibly 20 miles, it isn’t that much. (I hit the 75KG weight and I’m 5’8)
Other than those small gripes, brilliant scooter! If they had added Suspension, better app, advertised range, and a better brake light (it’s more of a reflector than a break light, could do with being a bit brighter)
I am surprised you read through all that, you deserve a medal.
Edit: got Error 03, throttle failure. No replacement parts to repair yourself, not a standardised part. Scummy company for this. Don’t buy.

Style: 300P/Black - 900W/20MPH/30MiVerified PurchaseThe media could not be loaded.
First impressions are, it’s great.
It came in a large box and was extremely well packaged. It also has a small tool T Handle Allen key to fit the screws which have something like Locktite on them to keep them in place over time. Easy well written instructions.
It is very well built, suspension, nice chunky tyres, large deck and the front and rear light are lovely and bright. Also has bright indicators on each end of the handlebar which is a nice touch if you want to use them. With the addition of hazard lights for any emergency situation you might need to use them.
I like that when you brake it recharges the battery, not sure how much it adds but every bit helps in my opinion.
This scooter will be ideal for when I use my camper van and can use it on the sites and on my trips when I’m off grid, should be ideal for terrain.

This scooter was easy to assemble and works right out of the box. It comes with a charging cord that is a good length too.
I didn't have issues with needing to connect to an app like other reviews mentioned. I never downloaded the app and have been using the scooter with no issues for months.
It has two speeds, a headlight that can essentially be on high or low beam, a bell and decent brakes.
It can reach about 25mph downhill. It goes slower uphill and on a constant flat and smooth road it goes about 18mph top speed.
I did have some issues with the rear brakes that I needed help correcting but aside from that this is a really nice sturdy scooter.
I even had a cousin try it out who weighs a little north of 300lbs and it rode nicely.
The battery life is good, and after riding a couple different scooters I would say this one rides smoother on rougher roads and paths than it's smaller counterpart..
