Product Description
According to 65% of consumers, the No. 1 complaint about umbrellas, is it flipping inside out!
Strong winds are the worst enemies of umbrellas, causing them to turn inside out and leaving you standing in the rain, soaking wet. Finally, there’s an umbrella that completely solves that problem! Let us introduce you to the greatest umbrella yet, the ShedRain Vortex, THE windproof umbrella! It’s the first compact umbrella that won’t flip inside out and is guaranteed to withstand wind speeds up to 75 mph.
How can we be so sure it won’t flip inside out?
We began by studying structures designed for high strength, durability and flexibility in the windiest of conditions. We discovered that the key to solving the umbrella inversion problem is… the strength of cable. Yes, the same type of cable that keeps the world’s most beautiful bridges standing tall even in the harshest of elements.
Hence, the design for our Vortex windproof umbrella began. In addition to the strong black electrostatic steel shaft, 8 reinforced ribs, a heavy duty vented double canopy, and a push button to automatically open and close the umbrella, we now added our new RED CABLE patented technology for the ultimate in wind protection.
And we didn’t stop there. We put our newly designed umbrella through extensive wind tunnel testing, and the results were astonishing! The compact, ShedRain Vortex easily withstood wind gusts up to 75 mph.
We now bring the ShedRain Vortex and our guarantee to you!
Our world-class quality, wind and rainproof umbrellas, have received the highest ratings and approval from numerous of the world’s leading publications. We are so confident in the quality of our materials and craftsmanship, that we are backing our umbrella with a LIFETIME GUARANTEE.
Get the ultimate protection against the wind and rain. Add the ShedRain Vortex Windproof Umbrella to your cart NOW!

- Reviewed in the United States on January 17, 2025This is a very large windproof umbrella. I am very pleased with the quality and the strength, which is adverstied as being able to resist 75 mph winds. This umbrella may not get as compact as some, but that is because of the strong quality and that it is windproof. May also be used for rain in the sun. The texture would lead to the water beading off as desired. The mechanism is smooth and you can tell that it was built for internal strength., In all, an umbrella that prioritizes strength over being collapsable.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 3, 2025This umbrella is awesome! It feels high quality in the hand and honestly, just does what it's supposed to - cover from sun or rain. The button is snappy, feels solid and reliable and the texture on the umbrella itself is nice to touch and does great for rain. The top part of the umbrella has gaps for wind to go through and while use, I had no trouble feeling wind pulling on the umbrella. Very nice umbrella for rainy season, highly recommend.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2024In London longer ago than I care to admit, I decided to buy an umbrella where people knew umbrellas. In those days, almost every man, certainly every one wearing jacket and tie, walked with one, swinging it in a certain manner. I went to Harrod's and bought one, swallowing hard at the price, but wanting something good. I had it for 30+ years and it never let me down. Learned to swing it in the prescribed manner as I walked. Got nicked from a cafe in Seattle. I miss it. It was perfect. This one comes close and is certainly more engineered than the old one, which did invert itself in strong winds, but was made to rebound with no damage. I can't vouch for 70mph, which seems ridiculous. Who'd even think of using an umbrella then, there? But certainly nicely made and over-engineered for unnecessary strength in unrealistic conditions. Something to be said for that, I suppose. Wish it were black and not baby blue, but it will serve me well, I do believe. It's huge, by the way. Will keep me dry, though.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2024The ShedRain Vortex Windproof Umbrella has impressed me with its robust build and thoughtful design. With features like a push-button open and close mechanism, and a vented double canopy, this umbrella is engineered for both convenience and durability.
One of the standout features is its windproof design, which has been said to have been wind tunnel tested to withstand up to 75 mph. This makes it an excellent choice for those living in high-wind areas or anyone who has struggled with flimsy umbrellas in the past. The double canopy design not only helps with wind resistance but also ensures that you stay dry, protected from rain, sun, and wind.
The umbrella feels substantial when held, suggesting high-quality materials and construction that promise longevity. Although the price is on the higher side, the durability and effectiveness of the ShedRain Vortex could make it a worthwhile investment, especially for those who frequently face inclement weather.
As of now, I am quite pleased with its performance and aesthetic—the Vex Black color gives it a sleek, professional look. I plan to update my review after more extensive use to confirm if it continues to meet expectations.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 24, 2024This ShedRain Vortex Wind Resistant Umbrella pops open with just the press of a button. This sturdy umbrella has a number of upgraded features to help it handle more wind than the average umbrella but no umbrella is truly windproof. It is amazing that they claim it has been tested in 75 mph winds.
The main pole feels sturdy and the support ribs are strong with extra support slats I have never seen on an umbrella before. In addition the main canopy has air vents all around to let wind pass through in gusts of wind. The handle is very comfortable and rubberized with ribs that make it easy to hold.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2024I typically go for the smaller, compact umbrellas, but sometimes you just need something larger with more coverage. First, I love the teal color. The construction is very high quality and the one touch auto-open feature is a must! While it is not auto-close, it does have a much better design for manual closing with a wide ring that keeps you from pinching your fingers when lowering it back down. I’m excited to see how it does in high winds, but it is great for use as an everyday umbrella. For a full size umbrella of this quality, I feel like the price is very fair!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 29, 2024This is a very impressive, sturdy, well-made umbrella, manufactured by a company that's been making umbrellas for 76 years. It looks just like the one in the photos in the online product description--it is NOT the umbrella described. It is quite large--about 35.5" long, and it does not fold to a compact 11" as promised. It opens to a diameter of about 46" from tip to tip, providing lots of protection from wind and rain.
I really like the pattern in the fabric--which is made from recycled plastic bottles--and how easy it is to depress the button to open the umbrella. It's easier to open than most umbrellas because of the type of button (see my photo).
We've not had high winds yet to test the ability of the venting to withstand winds of 75 mph, but I feel confident that it will. Otherwise, I doubt if they'd say this--"We are so confident in the quality of our materials and craftsmanship, that we back our umbrella with a LIFETIME GUARANTEE." The umbrella comes with a code to scan or a Web site to visit for info on the warranty. I'm really pleased with this!!!

- Reviewed in the United States on December 31, 2024This is a nice umbrella. I am not a huge fan of the hook for the handle, but that is just personal preference. It opens and closes easily, and it seems to be sturdy in high winds. I still get hit with more rain than I would like. So, I do wish it had a little larger circumference. But overall, a good bargin.
