So you've got the square footage. Now you need a Dyson with a wide head and enough battery power to get you from the basement to the top floor without having to stop and recharge. These suckers also have a larger dust canister than other models, meaning you won't have to make as many trips to the trash can during your cleaning sessions. Nicely, these vacuums are still lightweight despite their larger capacity.

This one goes out to the cleanest of the clean, those who want a gadget that can pick up dust they can't even see. (Virgos, we see you and we toast to you.) Dyson's Detect vacuums feature a microfiber head that not only pick up the dirt and crud you can see, but also microscopic bacteria, dust, and allergens. They also feature a crevice tool, which gets in all the nooks and crannies that you've been trying to reach since you moved in. Essentially, the Detect vacuums are air purifiers for your floor. The best part? They're fitted with LCD screens that tell you exactly what they're sucking up.

My review: If you have a pet that sheds a lot, you need a Dyson Animal—full stop. The battery life and portability is best in class, and it's powerful enough to suck up piles and piles of hair, dirt, dust, and debris in its sizable bin. Dyson's service and replacement parts are also top-notch. When one of my spinning heads mercifully passed to the afterlife after more than two years of sucking up dog hair and an unholy amount of houseplant debris, they replaced it within a week.

A few models of the brand's high-tech air purifiers and fans are on markdown during the Prime Big Deal Days event. The purifiers come fitted with HEPA filters and an innovative tower design that's as sleek as it is efficient. You can opt for one with a humidifier, too, if your home relies on radiator heating or you've got lots of lush, tropical plants in need of quenching. When the air quality has dipped below ideal levels, it doesn’t seem to take much time for the purifier to do the job once I turn up the fan speed.”

My review: I am a notorious food smell hater, so I have this Dyson in my teeny tiny apartment kitchen to keep everything from smelling like beef bulgogi several days after I cook it. It's taller than it is wide, which I appreciate, and it purifies the air quite efficiently (which I can see from the LED screen). I keep the fan on pretty high while I'm cooking—especially with my gas stove—and it's far less obnoxious than my vent fan.

I love the gentle air attachment for the days I want a mostly air-dried look with a little texture.
